Villain!Emma AU things:

The result of giving Emma strength in her convictions and removing her attachment to other people and her self-restraint as far as using the full potential of her magic to do something about them.

Background is basically the same, but her reaction to finding out Rexus was deceiving her was not to fall into despair, instead choosing to solidify her never-love-anything philosophy and remain devoid of emotional attachment to other people.

She still murders Lux’s master, just earlier, before he decides to use Lux as a blood sacrifice. She and Lux see but do not speak to each other, and she leaves without him after she’s done. He escapes Tevinter on his own and builds a new life in the Free Marches.

Emma, alone, begins a crusade to eradicate the practice of Tranquility, starting with the wholesale massacre of clan Telahsalin (Isalas’s clan), and moving on to destroying Chantry texts and equipment used in Circles to make people Tranquil, and murdering anyone with knowledge of or ability to perform the Rite themselves.

Eventually, she’s less and less concerned with causing collateral damage, and more and more people start thinking what she’s doing is a good idea, so Lux, now an agent of the Inquisition, is going to be tasked with stopping her. And he’s going to need Rex’s and Isalas’s help to do it.
