PR’d my decline bench press today. 135lbs! (61.3kg)
Did I PR my 1 rep max on the decline bench press today after feeling super weak on my push day last week? Damned right I did.
🎉 130lbs! 🎉
According to my lifting app, with my history, my one rep max for decline bench press is 180lb. I just got 125lbs for two reps today. My goal is to get 135lbs (bar + two 45lb plates) in the next couple months… I’m so close, but I feel like that 10lbs will be my Everest. Maybe I’ll surprise myself though. I never thought I’d be able to move 95lbs so easily, but I do it for 10 reps and the first few feel like what the empty bar once felt.
I PR’d my decline bench press yesterday at 120lbs. Though only for one rep, I failed at the second… which is why I don’t put clips on since I lift alone (I was able to just tilt the bar and drop the plates so I could escape). The first rep felt good, so I thought I could get another and my body said, “Nope.”
