Breaking Hearts sold more than 1 million copies and peaked at #20 in the US. It also contained 3 Top 40 Singles in the US ("Sad Songs (Say So Much)," which peaked at #5; "Who Wears These Shoes" peaked at #16; and "In Neon" which peaked at #38).
Breaking Hearts was the last album to include all 3 members of John's "classic" lineup: guitarist Davey Johnstone, bassist Dee Murray, and drummer Nigel Olsson.
