Meet my Mycologist Solaris oc; Petch! He would go down into the Deepmines and collect samples of rare fungal fruits. Sadly he went M.I.A after a cave-in. Decades later the corpus accidently released what remained of his corpse during excavation. Corpus are warned to never follow a light at the end of a tunnel, lest they get lost and ultimately succumb to the fruits and roots. :) His postmortem form is known as the False Lantern or Deadgill.

Another image from my Anthropocene project, the Tower Colliery, Hirwaun. Opened in 1878, the colliery ran for 130yrs with the last owners being a group formed by the workforce. Despite being the last deep mine in Wales to be closed in 2008, the historic and treasured site, was transformed into the Phoenix and Tower Coaster in the early 2020s, making it South Wales first Zipline World https://www.zipworld.co.uk/location/tower 2019 marked the last time for The Valleys miners to meet one last time to reminisce about the colliery. Paying a very fitting tribute to this historic site. So this is a contraption I came up with for transporting mass resources out of a mine.  Basically, you load the chest up with everything you want transport out into the double chest.  It will load the minecart with chest and once full send it off to wherever the tracks take it.  When the empty cart returns it will fill it again and send it off.

It probably could be smaller, as it has a 10x2 footprint, but it is designed to fit within the 2 block wide, constraints of my deepmine.  It uses 3 hoppers, a dropper, 7 redstone, and 4 repeaters, so fairly resource light. Again could be less resource intensive, but the 2 block wide limit made me have to stretch a bit.  I added the button for manual launch, but it is optional.

If people like I will post the specs for the receiving end of this contraption.
