so keep your eyes set on the horizon, on the line where blue meets blue, and I bet that silver lining well I know itâd find you soon, cause Iâve sailed a thousand ships to you
So in 3x12 Heath talks about the place where he and Dallas âused to quiet the voicesâ and in 3x13 Liz says to Max âyou quiet all the noiseâ when talking about their first meeting at the playground. Those lines have to be intentional parallels to âtogether we could quiet all the noises, drown out the voicesâ from Alexâs song right?Â
Welcome to the pod squad quad to our newest series regular, Dallas!

A collection of fanworks brought to you by the RNM18+ Discord. Prompt word was "Oasis," which could be our aliens' home planet, a haven in the New Mexican desert, or a certain "Wonderwall" band...

RNM Week Day 2
prompt: âWhen I said I wanted family time, this isnât what I meant.â
and for this prompt I wrote about Dallas and Heath on the road to understanding this new weird family theyve found themselves in the orbit off <3 <3 <3
--------------
Dallasâs phone chimed from across the room, but he didnât look up until it landed right on the page, barely missing smacking him in the hand.
âHey!â
Heath laughed, dropping down on the other end of the couch and missing crushing Dallasâs feet with his ass just as narrowly. Once he landed, though, the smile dropped off his face.
âSomething wrong?â
âThe text, uh, itâs from Guerin. Itâs probably nothing, butâŠâ
âYouâre afraid itâs going to be some brand new sci-fi channel shit to get us both almost killed again?â
âUh, yeah. Thatâs one way to put it.â
And Dallas would be lying if he tried to pass off himself as unbothered as he unlocked his phone. No, the both of them were holding their breath.
Letting his out slowly, Dallas said, âheâs asking if Iâm interested in some âquality family time.ââ
âOkay, but which part of his family?â
âNot really that reassuring,â Dallas agreed. In his hand, the phone gave another short buzz. âHe says now that itâs fine if âmy plus one wants to tag along,â so. Iâm guessing itâs a casual affair.â
ââŠAre you gonna go?â
Shrugging, Dallas picked his book up again. âSure. Itâs not going to get less weird between us if everyone doesnât pull their weight.â
âItâs not going to get less weird between you if they donât get less weird,â Heath scoffed, knocking their knees together.
Then it was Dallasâs turn to laugh. Whether Heathâs assessment was fair or unfair, he could appreciate his willingness to name it out loud. As strange and terrifying as his childhood had been, there were a few advantages to growing up the way he had, without other aliens to isolate himself with.
âHey, do you want to be my plus one?â he asked, covering Heathâs knee with his hand, keeping them pressed together, keeping him from pulling away.
âAre you nuts? Iâm positive Dr. Valenti will be there, Iâm not going to impose onâŠâ
Dallas wiggled his phone. âI can double check if itâd make you feel better, but the whole crew is going to have to get used to us as a package deal, man. Anyway, he strikes me as a forgiving guy.â
âYeah, well, sometimes being forgiving can backfire.â
To that, Dallas could only shoot Heath a loaded look. Theyâd had this moral and theological debate before; Heath already knew where he stood.
âWell, Iâm not planning on developing any new unexplainable life threatening alien medical conditions any time soon. Are you planning to hire mercenaries and inject people with weird drugs anyway? Because then, then maybe weâd have an issueâŠâ
âOkay, okay. I get it.â
âUh-huh.â Dallas fired off a text back to Michael to finalize their plans and let him know Heath would be coming along too. As he might have predicted, Michael had no textual reaction to that news, and Dallas pocketed his phone, turning his attention back to his book.
âHey, uh, Dallas?â
âMm?â
âThis is maybe a stupid thing to say since obviously youâre my friend so you care, but, uh, why does it matter to you if the Roswell gang wants me around? Itâs not like Iâd ever try and stop you from seeing them because of it or act jealous or whatever, I getââ
âNope, sounds like you donât get.â
âWhat?â
âItâs plain as day, man. I got invited for family time. That includes you. Obviously.â
âOh.â
Dallas had to move his hand to turn the next page. Heath stayed right where he was.
