At first they refused.

So to clarify I either have to take this order of live insects with another person's food order, or I will be punished.
He said no, I wouldn't.
"it just affects the rating, which is easy to get back up if you keep taking orders."

It is a punishment.

I talked to customer support about it.
He refused to tell me what happened
or why it happened.
He told me I can get my ranking back up
by dashing more.
I told him it was out of my control-
not my fault
and asked if they could
please fix it.
He said someone would be
getting in touch with me about it
and that they'd send me an email
explaining what happened.
I was satisfied with that.
Time ticked on.
No one reached out-
I remained gold status.
I checked my email.
It did not explain why I was unassigned
or why I was gold because of it.
All it did was explain the ranking system.
I was livid.
I am still gold status.
They talk like it's easy to get these
rankings and rating back up
but doordash actively works against
their own workforce so they
can benefit and make more money.
Just another corrupt company
exploiting their workers.
If they're not going to help me,
I will get louder.

for things out of our control.
