EDIT: Also, while I’m out here dissolving bullshit misconceptions about Dick Grayson, can everyone PLEASE get on the same page with the fact that him cheating on Kori with B*rbara is NO LONGER CANON. It was RETCONNED because it was such bullshit.
This guy legit had issues with being with his own girlfriend while she had a political loveless marriage with a man on Tamaran. Despite Dick being in love with her, and Kori with Dick, he respects marriage that deeply. So yeah nah, let that purely OOC and non-canon storyline GO. Kori has always been the only woman for him, but that’s another argument altogether. My point is though that he would NEVER cheat on that woman who he loves so fucking deeply.

Tactile and physical, many would think Dick Grayson was all over his partner. And being a handsome guy with a clean criminal history in Gotham had many thinking he was with any woman he chose many nights a week.
But they were wrong.
10 years earlier
Dick was currently sitting on your couch with a soda in hand, playing with the condensation as you talked. He kept getting distracted by the shine of lamp light on your lipgloss. Dick wasn’t quite sure what to think about his current predicament.
He wasn’t usually interested in someone and actively wanting to kiss was even less frequent. He fit somewhere in the grey area of sexuality. Not sex repulsed but not as interested in everyone else seems to be.
But this evening, he couldn’t help but notice how nice you looked. The way you smiled. The touch of your hand on his knee when laughing felt electric.
“You know what I mean,” you laughed while waiting for him to answer.
“Sorry, just pretty,” Dick said awkwardly. You smiled, confused. “I mean- you’re pretty. You look really pretty today.”
“Oh thanks. You too,” you replied.
“Haha glad I’m pretty,” he joked but all he could think was that your hand was still on his leg. Dick wished you’d just lean in to kiss him.
“I mean- of course you are. You’re probably the most attractive person I’ve ever met,” you said with an eye roll. “Have you looked in a mirror?”
“Can I kiss you?” He blurted out. Your eyebrows rose high.
“Uhh.. is this a joke?” You asked but you noticed his eyes on your lips and the way his body leaned towards you.
“I wouldn’t joke like that,” Dick replied.
“Oh… yeah,” you said shyly. “You can.”
Dick brushed the hair off your face and leaned closer. You could smell his deodorant and cologne and maybe some sort of hair product. Dick looked at your face and your lips that looked soft and inviting. This was weird. Most of his kisses have been by other people initiating. Before his nerves could get the best of him, he pressed foreword and smashed his lips against yours.
You gasped and pulled away. “Woah,” you said.
“Sorry! Sorry,” he said with a wince.
“It’s okay. Just a little too much.”
“Yeah.. yeah. We can just forget-“
“Do it more like this,” you interrupted while cupping his cheeks. Dick froze with nerves as your warm lips pressed against his. It took him half a second to move his lips to kiss you back. You pulled your lips back only to press small kisses to his lips. His hand held your arm as you kissed.
You licked at his bottom lip and Dick’s mind froze. It was amazing but too much. He pulled back.
“Sorry,” he muttered.
“What?” You replied, confused. “Did I do something…”
“No. I just don’t want to French kiss or anything.”
“Cool,” you answered, looking at your hands, not sure what to say. “Do you wanna play a game?”
I’ve seen a couple people say that Dick is demisexual. I was just wondering if it is actually true and if yes, can you one or two examples/comics, thank you. Also, I love your metas and think it’s really cool that you put so much effort into them, it’s really helpful for new comic readers wanting to get into Dick Grayson/Nightwing :)
If we are looking at Pre-52, I’d say that there is a lot of evidence that Dick is demisexual. There are several instances where Dick pretty much explicitly states as much:

There isn’t anything wrong with casual sex to make that clear. But Dick is pretty consistently uninterested and uncomfortable with that sort of approach. He doesn’t tend to pursue relationships in that way...he actually lowkey really enjoys being romanced a bit.

I mean, in recent years, DC has become more concerned with pushing Dick as a womanizer in order to capitalize on his sex appeal, so...whatever. But Dick’s relationships used to be all about emotional connection and dedication. And I think with their approach, DC really misses the fact that a huge part of Dick’s charm was how sincere he was with his love.
