Let me say that even if I consider myself a very romantic writer, and I usually tend to write brutalia as a happy married couple, I loveee this idea 👀👀
Meanwhile I think Bruce can be very twisted and possessive, I personally think Talia’s very much more vicious than him, if she really wants to xD Not to the point she’s trying to actually ruin Bruce’s life, but more like… keeping him into her lash. Convincing herself that he’s still obsessed with her, even if he tries still to dismiss her—and meanwhile it hurts, deeply, I think the strike at her ego is enough for her to want to prove Bruce wrong. To drive him mad, until his hands shake and he sets his jaw close, his shoulders tense and gaze heated. Until he tears her clothes away and makes her silent.
Buuut two can play like this. Maybe Talia will visit Damian at the mansion and lay on whichever shit the midia will be talking currently about Bruce, whatever pretty actress he had on his arms last night, and Bruce just lets himself be trashed on, until he’s bending Talia’s across ol’ Thomas Wayne’s desk, murmuring, “aren’t you a jealously thing, Princess? We aren’t even married anymore”. The pain is there, sharp, but turns dull as Bruce pounds on her. Then, again, spread over the Batcomputer’s keyboard, on the top of his tights at his office in the Wayne’s Tower, before patrol at the kitchen’s counter…
So, it’s complicated. Bruce is very good at hiding his feelings, but from her. There’s something into Talia that make him shaky, almost unsure. Bare, as he hadn’t one single day of training in his life. So he keeps playing into her game, again and again and again. Let her strike on him, let her drawn blood from his back with her teeth and nails. And in return, he’ll always make sure to leave a handful of bruises at Talia’s neck, high enough she has to wear high-collared if she wants to cover them; bruises at her waist, at her thighs, everywhere he can manage to. If they’re in public, sometimes at one rooftop, sometimes hid behind a bookshelf, he’ll tower her with his body to keep her hidden from unwanted eyes. Will keep her clothes half on, so she’s not exposed to anyone but when in his room. When he can pretend Talia is still his, his wife, his to keep.
I feel like *both* of them have a lot of communication struggles. So they just accept their relationship as it is, full of unsaid things and hurt, even if both of them are still holding dearly onto the remaining of their doomed love. Talia will never ask more of Bruce, ashamed still of the last time she thought Bruce would keep, would love her, and Bruce won’t ask Talia to give up more of her freedom to stick with him; Talia thinks she’s but a pretty thing Bruce keeps close because of their son and likes to fuck sometimes, and Bruce thinks the only thing he still deserves from Talia is her hate. And he’ll keep with this sickening play they have been playing so far as long as she’ll have him; until there’s someone better than him.
(Aside from the kink sex, I really like that aspect of doomed love, gothic lovers of Brutalia and I don’t really have much headcanons that went really dark on them—at least with just the two of them involved ;) But!~)
(If you want a more happy ending, tho, I think that, at some point, they’re just fighting each other for ridiculous reasons (“Cannot you see Damian’s wrinkled clothes, Bruce? You don’t even know how to take care of our child, honestly”) just so they can have their little roleplay that someone from the family have to step in because, ‘yes, Bruce, every goddman villian and civilian in this city know you’re ponding Talia in some rooftop and no one wants to stumble on you two anymore, get a grip.’)
