Veterinary Radiology
Sometimes I feel super frustrated taking dental radiographs, and I'm like "Uggggh I've been doing this for YEARS how have I not gotten any better at this?!?"
And then today I'm reviewing old images from years ago for a patient coming in soon, and I realize holy crap, I have actually gotten better! By quite a bit! I'm not a stagnant failure, my brain just hates me :D
Y’all, after stressing all yesterday and basically only sleeping 2 hours to stay up most of the night studying, I did really well on my exam this morning. I got an 82%, which I’m honestly so shocked by because diagnostic imaging is so difficult to understand and reading X-rays is super challenging for me! Anyway, excuse me while I cry happy tears over doing well (and thank you to everyone who wished me good luck, y’all are my little lucky charms hehe!)
Send asks?
Y'all. I have an MRI on Thursday. My doctor got it scheduled for two weeks after my appointment with him which always makes me nervous. I've had MRIs be scheduled a month or so away so short notice makes me nervous. I've been progressively losing feeling in my hands and feet so that's concerning to me and my doctor.
MRI is to check for the same stuff as the others: tumor, MS, that sort of thing.

You guys remember me telling you about throwing up during a radiology prac and being super embarrassed every time I see the doctor that was present? Well, during an ultrasound of an adult bovine that the very same doctor was performing, I was leaning my head and arms on the closed lid of a bin so I could see the ultrasound screen. We were all watching in anxious silence as more and more liver abscesses appeared on screen. The lid popped inwards because my head weighs a metric fuck ton, scaring the shit out of everyone except the cow and dropping my phone into the trash. I feel like I should just stay very far away from diagnostic imaging.

Me: so why don't we learn anything about rabbits?
Professor: they're not very commonly seen in general practice
Me: they're the USA's 3rd most popular pet after cats and dogs. Maybe they're not being seen because you're not teaching anyone to diagnose and treat them so rabbit owners are very limited in where they can seek treatment.
Professor: I'll find you some resources.
Me: preferably one with hedgehogs, guinea pigs, and some reptiles.
I'm such a pain in the ass.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE
My pelvis is normal according to the random doc who reviewed my ultrasound!
Everyone, time to pack up and go home, our work here is done! This is a NORMAL PELVIS I REPEAT, A NORMAL PELVIS
Good fuck I hope my specialist sees this and laughs/finds so many things that the general reviewer missed AND that this doesn’t fuck up my ability to get that pelvic/rectal MRI
