You know, one of the things that's always bugged me on Tumblr, among many others, is people's obsession with followers/follower counts. I can understand like follower milestones if you like to celebrate that stuff and what not, but I've seen some people get so crazy about it. Especially in losing followers. 

I think people need to learn to not take losing followers personally. Yeah, sometimes you upset someone and they unfollow out of emotion. But have you ever considered that maybe they don't like the same things as you anymore? That maybe their interests or your interests have shifted and they're not really interested in what you're posting anymore. Losing followers is typically not as personal as you may think it is.

And if you are taking it personally, then figure out how to hide your follower count and stop worrying about it. 

I also think that if you're cleaning up your following list, you shouldn't be a dick bag and go "Eeeeh, I should unfollow that person." in a post, especially if they're a mutual and they know you're talking about them.
