We’ll Be Back In A Moment - Agents of SHIELD x Reader x Bobbi Morse & Lance Hunter

SPOILERS FOR AGENTS OF SHIELD 7X13 FINALE = YOU’VE BEEN WARNED

It had been a while since the last time you’d been to Russia. Moscow was usually cold but the quinjet you were on had heating at least.

Russia didn’t have great memories for you, your last mission there was the last one that Bobbi and Hunter had been a part of S.H.I.E.L.D. for.

Until now.

You had orders from the Director, Mack, to retrieve the two assets as Mack just called the mission classified to Simmons when she’d asked if either of you could talk about it.

Little did they know that Mack was on the helicarrier overwatching your quinjet on the radar as it headed above Russian airspace.

“Sorry guys, I have to go, we’re hovering above Russian airspace right now-” You interrupted, leaving Mack to nod as everyone else said their see you laters as you added that you’d message the group chat after the mission.

“Keep me updated, agent S/n, we both know how important this mission is.” Mack affirmed, leaving you to just nod in response before removing the device that was allowing you to be a part of the hologram call.

“You sounded like the director then, y’know.” Coulson chuckled, leaving Mack to just let out a sigh and shrug.

The bar that you’d been sent coordinates to was a throwback that made you almost throw up as the memories began to force their way to the surface.

It had changed a bit since the last time you were there, but it was the same aesthetic of dark wooden furniture, yellow toned lights and vodka.

Your eyes flickered around the room before you clicked your phone screen checking the rendezvous time before slipping into a booth where you couldn’t easily be seen, ordering a drink using your Russian skills in the process.

Russian that Bobbi had taught you.

Your phone beeped once from it’s place on the wooden booth table, the door to the bar opening as two individuals walked in, a woman and a man.

 Your smile had already broken your frown as you recognised them.

Bobbi and Hunter.

Waving down one of the staff, you requested in Russian that the two would be given vodka shots that would be added to your bill, smiling to yourself as the staff member walked to the bar.

You were watching carefully from your corner, ignoring how they both kept surveiling the scenes around them.

This meant that sneaking over to sit at their table without them noticing was exceptionally difficult until their drinks arrived, with double what they ordered.

Hunter just stared at the drinks before grabing one to down as the vodka shots were added whilst Bobbi just questioned the staff member who gestured towards your empty booth with a shrug.

Their heads spun around to face you as the scraping of the wooden chair you planned to sit on hit their eyes.

“Mind if I sit?” You enquired, your Russian pronounication had improved even if your accent was definitely not Russian.

“Y/n?” Bobbi’s face betrayed her as she stared at you in shock whilst Hunter looked more like a gawping fish for a moment.

“Bloody hell, you got taller.” Hunter babbered, making you instantly crack a grin before swinging your chair around so it was backwards, slipping into sit in it which led to Bobbi just chuckling.

“Still can’t sit straight, can you?” Bobbi teased, a gasp leaving her mouth as you just shrugged, downing a shot in the process.

“Who are you and what happened to the Y/n we knew all those years ago?” Hunter asked, leaving you to just sigh into your beer bottle.

“Abducted by aliens, went to several alternate timelines, hunted by aliens, time travel, quantum realm travel and now I’m back at S.H.I.E.L.D. on a mission from the director, asset retrieval.” You listed, counting on your fingers as Bobbi and Hunter just exchanged looks of shock and confusion.

“Okay then, wait, asset retrieval?” Bobbi asked, leaving you to smirk into your beer bottle this time.

“Oh, yeah, you two are the assets, special mission from the Director and all that, you guys are wanted back at S.H.I.E.L.D.” You explained, gesturing to the staff member to pay for your bill.

After you’d paid the bill, Bobbi and Hunter gave you looks that left you to just shrug.

“Coulson wants us for what exactly?” Hunter asked, waving his empty drink around in question.

“Not Coulson. Mack’s the Director now.”

Bobbi and Hunter just stared at each other before looking at you as you just shrugged again, rolling your shoulders to ignore the ache.

“You two don’t have to rejoin S.H.I.E.L.D. but it’ll be tricker if you don’t, y’know, since Mack still wants to see you and we need to catch up, we’ll have to add you to the annual video call thing we’re doing now... there’s so much you two missed... I missed you guys...” You rambled before clearing your throat.

“But, we need to go.”

You smiled as you led Bobbi and Hunter to the quinjet, they’d left their things in a rented car so the two of them grabbed their things before following you out into the bare wilderness where the quinjet was.

“Now, Y/n, I don’t quite remember who taught you to park the quinjet-” Hunter began, you just chuckled, swinging around a key fob between your fingers before clicking it.

Hunter tensed slightly as two beeps echoed from behind him, turning around to reveal the quinjet decloaking as you walked forwards to go inside.

“Assets retrieved, return to base, I’ll contact HQ.” You explained to your pilot who just nodded, downing their coffee before beginning launching procedures.

You gave Bobbi and Hunter a weak smile before slipping into the co-pilot seat, grabbing the headset.

“Quinjet to HQ, assets retrieved, returning to HQ now.”

Removing the headset from your head, you nodded to your pilot who just nodded back before you turned to Bobbi and Hunter who were sat in the back.

“They grow up so fast.” Hunter joked, leaving you to sigh.

“I mean, Daisy is dating Daniel Sousa since we faked his death and she has a sister we found in another timeline and brought with us and now they’re travelling through space, so...” You rambled, laughing at their faces.

“You were right, we missed a lot...” Bobbi admitted, leaving you to shrug before you pulled out your phone.

“What are you doing?” Hunter enquired, noticing your smirk.

“Updating the group chat.” 

Y/n: Hey, guess who I found in Russia?

Y/n: 1 photo attached

You grinned at your uploaded photo of a selfie you’d taken with Bobbi and Hunter in the photo, your grin as Hunter just held up a bottle of something whilst Bobbi just grinned too.

You grinned more at the incoming messages before climbing out of your co-pilot seat to tackle Bobbi and Hunter into hugs.
