Amputee/Prosthetic Leg!Wally is my BABY okay? i love this headcanon so goddamn much. omgggggg

okay so other things. 

literally never shuts the fuck up about this once the others know (wasn’t hiding it, it just never came up and it never crossed his mind that he should tell anyone else cause wally is Like That)

CONSTANTLY making jokes at his own expense

“walls can you get me the remote?” “no i can’t, i don’t have a leg, get it yourself.”

“wally can you help me with this?” “how dare you ask me to do something like that? can’t you see how much i’m suffering?”

“wally can you reach that for me? i’m too short.” “i’m missing a limb, have some goddamn perspective” 

“hey has anyone seen this thing? i can’t find it” “well i can’t find my entire leg! how do you think i feel?”

“HOLY SHIT GUYS! my leg! it’s! it’s!” “wally what? what happened?” “it’s gone! holy shit!” “jfc walls, it was never there!” “how incredibly insensitive of you, dicholas.”

everyone he ever has to work with is consistently face palming

occasionally experiences phantom limb sensations. also makes jokes about this.

experiences phantom pains even less often, but when he does, they can be Intense. dick or barry will sit through them with him. one memorable occasion, wally was alone with bruce when it started happening, and bruce sat with wally and did whatever wally needed until it eased. they never talk about this, but wally develops a whole new understanding of bruce that day. it’s strange for all parties involved.

once threw his prosthetic onto dick’s bed to wake him up in the morning yelling “holy shit dick my leg fell off” before dramatically flopping on top of dick as well.

you know that guy who talked about sticking a 2-liter bottle in his pant leg so it looked like his leg was cut off a little lower than it really was to sneak soda into a movie theater? wally’s done that. several times.

seriously never stops joking about this, how did it go unnoticed by the others for so long?

once breaks his prosthetic during a fight with james jesse flavor trickster, and is very embarrassed, but trickster just kinda apologizes for wally being hurt and goes quietly with the police. breaks out a while later and rehashes the whole thing he was doing before so that he and wally can face off on a level field. wally has mixed feelings about all of this.

once a villain half melted wally’s prosthetic (one of the earlier ones bruce developed for him, before it became everything-proof), so wally removed it and threw it at their head while barry continued the fight. no one knows this happened except the jl. the titans do not believe him and no one will back up his story so he has no proof. barry thinks this is hilarious.

(if we put this in the same verse as amputee!steph, she spends a lot of time with wally after she loses her leg, and they become really close and he teaches her a lot about how to be a hero with this particular disability, and how to work around some of the difficulties they face because of it, and dick is constantly being over-dramatic about steph stealing his best friend.)

Hey, I was thinking today about autistic Bruce Wayne being hyperempathetic but alexithymic and nonexpressive. AKA, he feels more emotions than the rest of us but he doesn't know what they are or how to make his face do the thing. (Autistic Bruce is practically canon at this point, imo, come on, social difficulties, Grey Ghost SpIn as a kid, criminal justice, mechanics, and bats as an adult, pro'ly stims by cracking his knuckles or something, I know I do.)(This is totally a trait Damian got btw.)

That does sound upsetting.” Inside: literally having nausea from emotions-Dick is so good w/ Dami bc he’s been through all this with Bruce already. -But also part of the issues they had when Dick was sixteen was due to Bruce being so Bad At Expressing. -“I know you didn’t bring me back bc you like me.”“I don’t…. not like you.” Bruce honey you are so fucking valid. -“Damian. You’re… a pretty good Robin,” “Tt. Though I will admit you are a fairly suitable guardian, Father.” Dick in the background: “Aren’t you so proud of them, Alfie?” Alfred: “Indeed, I’ve hardly seen them so emotional, not counting times of crisis.” -Bruce: “You know, family is…. good.” Jason: “What are you trying to tell me?” Bruce: “I just told you.” Dick, popping his head into the cave: “He’s telling you he loves you!” Bruce: “Isn’t that what I said?” -Wally: “Does he like… ever smile? Or frown? I’ve never seen him make a facial expression.” Barry: “I once saw him looked scared bc Robin was in danger.” Wally: :0!

OCD Bruce Wayne

Bruce Wayne has OCD, it makes so much sense and explains a bunch of irrational stuff he does in addition to fitting with his thought process.

-naming everything with bats? A tradition held over from Dick’s time. He’s too worried to quit because maybe that’ll be bad luck and things will stop working, and he knows it’s stupid but he won’t risk it. -after Jason died, he pretty much removed any sign of him from his life aside from the case—asserting control over his memories and grief -keeping a bunch of ways to take down the JLA even after its repeatedly hijacked and used against them? Hoo boy, that’s some OCD right there. -seriously this guy’s thing is being super prepared for literally anything. You know how you end up having BatEverything? You freak out and invent it “just in case,” and then that one happens to come in handy. There’s probably millions of useless gadgets off panel that he created to relieve the panic. -he’s petrified of killing people, but more than that, he believes it makes him irredeemable. He holds himself to a high but RIGID moral standard with clear rules: no guns, no killing. If he kills, if he uses a gun against anyone, he’s as bad as those he fights. -Tl;dr this boy has some really nasty OCD he hasn’t treated because on very rare occasions it actually helps him prepare.

hey, another thing i’ve been thinking of?

jason todd with tinnitus?

so tinnitus is when your ears ring all the goddamn time. it is annoying and has no cure, so that’s fun (no i’m definitely not projecting). it’s caused by an injury to the inner ear or any other number of fun things, but this one’s what’s important for this particular post. it happens because of excessive or cumulative noise exposure that causes damage to the soft bits inside ya ears, or because of head and neck injuries. the ringing (or clicking or hissing or whatever, we’re going with ringing, cause that’s what i know) can fluctuate in volume, but it’s pretty much always there.

jason “i always have a gun on me when i’m out” todd, who spends time with roy “trick arrows are my best friends” harper and kori “my hands generate mild explosives” anders, Most Definitely has been exposed to excessive and cumulative and head and neck injuries in Excess. 

what i’m saying is that jason todd has tinnitus. 

tinnitus can also lead to insomnia, difficulty concentrating and further hearing loss. SO

jason noticing the ringing after a particularly bad firefight and getting a diagnosis from leslie, who tells him to be careful with further excessive noise exposure (spoilers: jason doesn’t listen)

at first, it’s just a mild annoyance at worst, but the more jason is around explosions and gunfire and all that nonsense, the worse the ringing gets

sometimes it gets quiet and the ringing gets so loud jason can’t concentrate, and he has to try to drown it out with music or other background noise

at night, when it’s all quiet, the ringing is a lot more noticeable, and jason wants to be able to drown it out with music, but sleeping with headphones in is risky, cause he might miss someone approaching him, and be left defenseless. 

he decides to suffer through the ringing. it keeps him awake sometimes. 

sometimes it feels like there’s an itch under his skin thrumming in time with the ringing. it’s a feeling he can’t shake.

as time goes on, the ringing gets worse and so does jason’s hearing. 

he learns sign language from cass, as his hearing starts to decline. 

he gets fitted with hearing aids that help for the most part, though some things are still hard to decipher

he learns to read lips

two weeks before he turns twenty five, he’s caught near an explosion and his hearing goes completely

adjusting to being completely deaf is difficult, but he manages. his siblings and roy and kori and a sizable portion of the league learn sign when they find out jason can’t hear. 

tim installs sensors in the red hood’s helmet that will detect movement on jason’s sides and at his back, and vibrate in the corresponding position on his head, so that he’s never caught off guard

he learns to adjust his fighting style

harley learns sign too, spends time with jason just mirroring his signs so that she can get them down perfectly. it’s almost like a kind of meditation for her. jason’s glad that something so simple is helping her recovery from her time under the joker’s toxic influence

jason won’t admit it, but it all makes him very happy

and his hearing does not determine whether or not he can kick your ass.

Fundamentally he has "cip" which means congenital insensitivity to pain.

He's dyslexic in my heart his Clark Kent glass lenses are tinted in my soul. I also hc him as having dyscalculia and just not grasping concepts alot and when he does and explains his reasoning to anyone it's just??? Like Clark was not good in school he did his best but Smallville's school was not the best equipped for his disabilities but! His momma did a lot of research and her & pa Kent always helped him with his work and did their best with the information they had available.

Disassembling and reassembling laptops is one of his favourite pastimes. -He Could slow down yes probably, But Then not enough of his Thoughts would escape his brain before they were Forgotten Forever. -gotta move to the Extreme. gotta ZOOM. -Bart: listen I will literally throw up if a tomato is ever inside my mouth. autistic kyle rayner

this is mostly based off his original run Honestly

- He really low empathy + has not great social skills…. and his relationship with donna suffered a lot in the beginning because he would go a week+ without contacting her / talking to her because he didnt need the socialization / a lot of time with her to be With Her and love her himself and didnt think about her emotions regarding it (canon) - He also didnt understand why donna is mad abt his neighbor posing nude for a paiting for him - He is very blunt and has almost no filter - He things super literally (like in the sb/gl crossover where superboy said the villains weakness was iron (like the metal) but kyle smacks the villain with a construct of a clothes iron - Short temper / not a lot of patience for things that frustrate him (see: the entirety of the emerald allies)….. the only thing he doesnt get Really really frustrated with is art - Gets very absorbed in his art and will go hours without stopping, painting is a stim for him (especially with water colors) - Stims with the ring / making constructs too (things to fidget with, construct sketch pad to doodle during JLA meetings, etc.) - Is kind of oblivious / lost in his own thoughts a lot - Infodumps !!! about art, comics, star wars… hes always equating things and comparing them to star wars movies and characters and objects in his internal monologues.. star wars might be a SI ? - feel free to add more
