Star Trek is actually LESS woke now. Can’t believe they took gay Jewish Spock from us.

Didn't Percy Jackson also pull something like that, where dyslexia lets you read ancient greek lol
Anon is replying to this post about Spock's dyslexia (L'tak Terai)
Yeah I have some feelings about the neurodivergent rep in Percy Jackson. Some posts I've previously reblogged:

I know least one other dyslexic person has dismissed their own symptoms because the Percy Jackson books did such a bad job describing them, which is particularly unfortunate for a series which is usually touted as the pinnacle of representation.
The line "your brain's hardwired for ancient Greek" is a cool line, but really bad at describing dyslexia, and the movie's representation of it was also not great. (I don't know what the TV show did/does, so no comment on that).

I genuinely wonder what people who were very involved in crafting Spock’s character, namely Gene Roddenberry, D. C. Fontana, and Leonard Nimoy would think of Star Trek: Discovery with the additions and alterations it makes to Spock’s backstory, especially considering how none of them liked the idea of Spock having a sibling since they had always envisioned him as an only child, which I agree fits his characterization best. There’s something to be said about not feeling forced to adhere to the wishes of people who are long dead, but I think it goes to show how TOS canon should probably be left untouched for modern Trek shows and movies.
Me starting a new job, trying to impress everyone
Me 5 years and one mental breakdown later, knowing they can't fire me because no-one else here knows what the fuck they're doing
St disco x text posts (I've only just started season two so don't spoil anything lol)
“I dream of you” by USS_Queertastic
Summary: Spock has dreams about Michael
I dream of you, reaching out, a connection lost to time, red wings draped in regret, a figure turned to sand slipping through my fingers, a ghost in everything I touch, in games left unfinished, scattered pieces and tipped scales.
I dream of you, reaching out, have I left my mark as you’ve left yours on my heart, in my memories, our secret locked away.
I dream of you, reaching out, knowing my thoughts, my dreams, of kind eyes that guide me, a gentle reassurance in my mind telling me I have found him and that he dreams of me.
