Even within the stabilized warp bubble, the harmonics didn't flatten.

The computer called it a data echo; the crystal called it a song. For the first time, I wasn't just looking at subspace—I was listening to a heart beat searching for another in the dark.

As we approached the nebula. The ships experimental quantum singularity core (for which it received its designation of NCC-SINGULARITY) silently hummed, as it shed its warp bubble.

And within seconds the captain could be heard over the comms, calling for yellow alert, as the source of the mysterious signal came into full view.

Looking out the window of my astrometrics lab, i was in awe at what i could only describe as the Nebula-Siphonophore.

Even from a great distance, i could see the haunting beauty of this life form and how it dwarfed our ship.

The Betazoid crystal rippled and shown with light, as if responding to the inaudible calls of the creature. With only a slight adjustment, i was able to broadcast its majestic song across the decks of the Synapse, a haunting tune everyone's ears could hear.

In a true spirit of exploration, the captain had the ships active cloak activated. A perfect duck blind, while maintaining a safe distance from the massive entity. Allowing me, and the rest of the scientific teams aboard the Synapse, to study this beautiful life form as it swims through the nebula it calls home.
