Least to say Robert Robertson II was disappointed when his son was starting to show signs of being omega. But when lean built didn't change no matter how heavy training was and his son actually started to smell like cinnamon (he picked up the scent from Chase) he knew he had enough. Alpha pheromone therapy was too dangerous and doctors stared at him weird when he tried persuade them on in. So he had settled on Beta, he didn't want his son to be soft, city needed a hero.
Even with strict control of pheromone dosage it didn't help much, instead of turning Robert into a beta he got stuck in the middle. Scent barely feelable, any instincts he had before muted to the point of almost non existent. Mechaman wasn't too happy with results but at least now his son could pass off as beta.

Robert was used to the pain, it was constant ache in every inch of his body including scent glands. Now grown up he smelled very faintly of a forgotten coffe with metallic hint, not that it mattered costume blocked the scent so most media assumed he was either alpha on suppressants or beta. Still he felt wrong every time he entered his apartment, it felt wrong laying on the bare floor or sleeping in the chair, holding Beef felt good, the only good feeling he had during the loophole of working, fixing mechasuit and trying not to die.
Explosion and following coma messed him up more than he'd like to admit. His scent felt more noticeable, with hint of something rotten. It made him nauseous, despite doctors recommendations he just put some scent patches on and continued with his life. He had more important things to worry about... Like Blond Blazer staring down at him with concern after he thought fighting robbers with crowbars while his left arm was broken and he just woke up from the coma few days ago was a good idea... Oh well..
Flamecha/Flambert Smut that really should be considered/written more.
(Honestly the concept can apply to Z team Polycule but I can only visualise as Flamecha because of Flambae's trait of caring-so-much).
Alright folks, first off, I adore the amount of smut (and fluff) situations we've put this pair through.
I love how we basically have Switch Robert and Switch Flambae. We've been uses it to its fullest potential: We've got Dom or Sub Robert/Flambae, Sub with degradation kink, Dom giving praise kinks, Power Bottoms, Service Tops, rough sex, slower sex, banter in-between sex, etc.
But I'm gonna talk about Robert specifically. Talk about a hurt/comfort smut with Robert that ya'll have been sleeping on. And that concept involves Robert's mindset around romantic/sexual relationships-
AND HOW HE BREAKS WHEN BEING TREATED GENTLY!
See, for Robert (Switch Robert), when it comes to sex (whether one-night-stand hook ups, or failed attempts of romantic relationships that were more than sex) he would be use to either pleasing his partner or being treated roughly.
Robert probably had quick bathroom hook-ups, but for one-night-stands where he was taken back to the other person's place -> sometimes he'd be rewarded with: some returned affection, being allowed to warm his partners bed, decent aftercare (if he even lets them give him aftercare) or he'd be tossed out.
And all that makes sense for Robert. The treatment Robert experience would and does make sense to him.
Because that same treatment, in away, aligns with him outside of the bedroom -> aligns with his hero work with him serving to provide the care his hero/dispatch job has him serving or being roughed up in confrontations.
The treatment would also align with how his dad probably stopped giving him hugs/providing him any form of comfort ever since the Ear Incident.
Meaning, when it comes to serving or being treated roughly in bed, Robert knows how to respond to such actions and knows how to feel about them. Especially if you add in the headcannon that Robert focuses more on his partner's sexual preferences in the bedroom then his own, and would never think to ask about his own sexual preferences.
Therefore, in the beginning of their relationship, the way in which Robert and Flambae butt heads and insult each other actually helps eases Robert into the relationship and even has him not entirely fearful of the domesticity of it all. Hate sex to friends-with-benifits to exclusive not-so-flowery romantic relationship with rough sex (them switching who's dooming or subbing) is, again, the kind of treatment Robert is use to and the kind of treatment that aligns with his daily life.
So, Robert's heart stops and he freezes in place when one day Flambae slows down during their foreplay to admire, kiss, and caress Robert all over.
Because Robert would not know how to respond: to being treated like a priceless treasure, to genuinely feeling safe in his partners arms with almost all his defences down and no where to hide, to having a voice fondly whispering praise in his ear, or to hearing a simple genuine 'I love you' without a hint of mockery that suggested he'd be an idiot for believing it.
It's the kind of treatment Robert has wanted since forever but doesn't believe he deserves.
It's the kind of comfort Robert has wanted since forever but had been taught he'd be selfish for asking for it from anyone- partners, friends, family, his father.
Because, it's selfish for Robert to want to vent about his shitty day and just be hugged when it would be so annoying for his non-existence friends to hear.
Because, it's selfish for Robert to want to have softer sex or just cuddling together in bed (where he'd be the on held) when it would be so boring for his partners that he was already so lucky to have putting up with him and his secret hero identity.
And because, it was selfish for Robert to want his father home to can comfort his childhood loneliness, when his father had more important things to do as Mecha Man, like saving people's lives.
(I know its weird that I'm bring Robbie into this, but I'm really trying to get the deep physiological daddy issues across, and I'm hoping you guys just fill in the blanks of how the mindset translates to friends and partners.)
In conclusion, a combination of all the gently things Flambae would/could do to him while simply being hugged/cuddled with or without his shirt on, and while using his heat powers to ease his pained/sore/tense muscles -> would break touch-starved and low-self-esteem-unless-im-useful Robert Robertson the 3rd.
Robert would break, petrified with tears and all, while he'd struggle between [wanting the softness to stop because he doesn't deserve it and is selfish for wanting something so mundane] and [begging with desperation for Flambae to keep going.]
And ya'll have been sleeping on this.

One way or another you ended up estranged from the good-the "hero" path. It started with one event and suddenly, you became the thing you thought you wanted to destroy only a few months ago. Months turned into years and...now your story is famous. A hero falling into the life of a villain isn't something that happened a lot. Usually it was the opposite, all things considered. Now, with this new found notoriety...you had a lot of people that looked into you, especially in the news. Whether it be old fans, people's lives you've destroyed or even past lovers.
Robert had been keeping tabs on you ever since your fall from grace. Since he was back in the Mechaman suit, fully prepared, new things were added too. He was more powerful and the suit could take more hits. He was ready to confront you.
He took on the next report that you were involved in
He would start talking (obviously after making sure everyone is safe) but I feel like he wouldn't just charge in with aggression
He would try to have a heart to heart with you but, he was ready to beat you if need be. But, he rather would not...
The second you doubted yourself on getting back on the path of good he would comfort you. He would talk about how SDN helped the Z team turn into heroes and how he knew deep down that you aren't evil.
He would be THEE most supportive ever during your recovery into being a normal/hero depending on what you'd like to do
He would make sure you are OUT of the public eye as much as possible during your recovery
I don't feel like he'd immediately jump into a relationship with you during recovery but, his feelings would start blossoming more.
If you end up going back to being a hero, he would always make sure to be on assignments with you as support
He would always just be there if you need him, he is a shoulder to lean on for you. Anytime, anywhere
If anyone doubted you he would shut them UP immediately
Number one voucher but he would be realistic because obviously not everyone is gonna trust you again
In the Media he would make sure his support for you is outward too
Whenever you start dating he would be the most understanding and supportive person EVER
I keep thinking about Robert’s Mecha Man suit that @roughluckart has for their AU and obsessing over Victor just unzipping it by hooking one of large incisors in the zipper hole and unzipping it as he gets down on his knees. And Robert goes commando.

I have a niche Dispatch AU based on a movie I watched not long ago.
So, it’s somewhat based on the movie Bones And All, though it’s more so the lore of the movie rather than the exact plot. To preface (warning for mild to medium spoilers) in the movie, there’s a subsection of the human population that not only is capable of eating other people, but has uncontrollable hunger for it, which gets worse the longer they go without eating it. They’re called Eaters in the movie and they also have a heightened sense of smell.
So, basically, Robert is an Eater in this au. Whether it’s from his dad’s side (something about how even the “best heroes” exploiting people) or his mom’s side (Elliot possibly being his “mom” so to speak), it’s something he has to balance with being a hero. Maybe he has to deal in shadier parts of town in order to keep himself from chomping into his next lead into Red Ring. He did eat Flambe’s fingers though, having lost hold over stash.
I can only imagine how interactions with Z Team might differ. Maybe Robert takes particular interest in Sonar’s human meat substitute idea, or maybe Coupe hooks Robert up with some mob connections? Visi is absolutely going to feel some kind of way when she realizes he could possibly literally bite her head off. The only people who knew about Robert’s condition were himself, his dad, Eliot, probably Chase, and maybe some of the other members of their team.
