The noisy swing set provides the needed energy…back and forth, you sway, alternating between slow and steady, to fast and high.
“D’you always hang out during the night at some playground or something?” a voice asks, you don’t immediately turn your head, it wasn’t like you didn’t hear the footsteps, you just didn’t expect them to actually speak to you.
“…not really, but it’s fun” you answered.
Back and forth, the swinging continues…rusty hooks of this metal contraption emits the usual creaking sound.
“Huh…I guess it is…mind if I just…I don’t know? stay here?”
“Be my guest…just don’t be annoying, like…don’t try to judge me or randomly get creepy”
laughter can be heard, not from you of course. You don’t feel any malice though, you shrug to yourself, perhaps you’re just an amusing person.
“I bought some late night snacks from the nearby convenience store, you want some?”
You slow down your pace, turning to look at the stranger finally, you focus on the bag and the contents that you can make out.
“Hm…do you have a gum or something? if not then…I don’t think I’ll take your offer”
Rustling penetrates the silence moments later before finally, a sigh.
“No luck, I guess I didn’t buy any”
“Alright…then humor me I guess. Why did you talk to me?”
Silence once again, you’re not sure if this is the part where you should run or if the stranger is just thinking.
“I don’t know, something just…tells me that it wouldn’t hurt to talk to you. Pfft, unless of course you prove me wrong”
This time, it’s your turn to laugh, being caught off guard by the joke. It eased the tension a bit, thankfully.
“Do you like rocks?”
“Huh? that’s interesting…well…what kind of rocks? like…for jewelry?”
“Just…rocks…because some common rocks from the ground gets picked up by people, kids mostly…gets cleaned and stuff, named, loved…they didn’t even need to be shiny or different colored or smooth…just…a rock”
More humming ensues, noise that indicates pondering. You’re not really sure why you started the conversation like that, but it just felt right. Hell, it’s not even something you often think about.
“I guess rocks are cool…but…anything can have value for as long as someone sees it as valuable, yeah?”
You don’t know if you’re taken aback or not, but you do feel a slight appreciation towards the sentiment. You know that you weren’t being complimented…but it felt good to know that value isn’t linear or set in stone…
“…that’s true…I wonder if I’m someone’s ‘cool random rock’. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it…feels more like a rock with dirt”
The stranger slowly moves away after looking at the time, walking back to the main street but not before turning to you, you look back.
“I think you’re cool. So…when you feel like a neglected, random rock, just know…someone sees you as a cool rock.”
You snap yourself out of your shock before calling out to the stranger.

Starting off with Aoba, I think he's one of if not the best person to be in a relationship with at least from this cast of characters.

If you were together before the platinum jail incident, I think he would be an attentive lover but also keep some distance between you two, due to his past with Rhyme.

I do think he truly loved you during this era still, but he doesn’t want you to get hurt due to his actions or past actions as “Sly”.

You’re also one of the only people he fully trusts. It's hard to trust anyone in this day and age but you've never given him a reason to not trust you.

As a slight side-note, I think dating him at this time makes Ren adore you, one of the only people that doesn’t drive either of them insane.

I also think he enjoys PDA to an extent, not full on kissing or making out in public, but he always has to be holding you in some way, like intertwining hands fully, holding pinkies or even just having you holding onto his arm.

I also think if you tried to go to platinum jail with him , he would have a hard time wanting you to be around everything that's happening in a way, like he's worried something is going to happen to you in the same way it happened to Mizuki.

Now to think about if you were dating him during/after the platinum jail incident, I think he's a lot more tense and distant for awhile, though he truly wants to get to know you and trust you, after all the events he's been through, trusting anybody fully is incredibly difficult for him.

If you started dating during (EX: when Clear, Noiz, Mink and Kou-jaku all met and started talking), I think he would be extremely distant everything in his life basically just blew up and he doesn’t really know what to do, it would be hard for him to settle down and just focus on you.

I think towards the middle of events is when he finally relaxes (about you atleast) and tries to stop being so distant, I think this era? Version? Aoba has some trouble with physical touch, so he is typically holding onto some piece of clothing you have on, likely a sleeve.

At the end of the Platinum jail incident, I think he goes back to being a lot more like Aoba before everything happened, though I think he still has some issues with physical touch and prefers just holding hands, and resting on you, he’d be the one to initiate most contact.

For Kou-jaku I think he's relatively similar to Aoba in terms of his kindness, although sometimes it can come off as kind of sarcastic and fake. Not on purpose or saying anything about you, it just comes with the territory of his past and his current thoughts.

I think dating him before the platinum jail incident is almost like you aren’t in a way, he cares a lot for you and loves you, However due to his past it's difficult for him to confide in anyone besides Aoba. Although he slowly gets better about opening up to you.

I am a firm believer in PDA LOVER Kou-jaku, he loves having an arm around your waist, a hand on the small of your back, resting his head on your shoulder, holding hands. Basically anything you can think of, his hands are usually always on you.

Once everything with his tattoo is revealed, and even after Aoba helps him he assumes you’ll never want anything to do with him again, it takes a lot of showing him you still trust him and you can forgive his past for everything to go back to normal, but eventually he realizes you won’t leave him.

Lastly! If you got with him at the end of the platinum jail incident he is a lot more open about his past after knowing you for a longer period of time, during this time period he loves having you trace his tattoos, it's a very intimate moment for both of you, but it also represents trust.

- from what I can gleam in my own interpretation, Aoba is a heavy sleeper to me. Once he’s out, he is out. There has to be drastic measures to get him up. Like Koujaku lifting the bed to get him out or Beni poking him with his beak.

- if you plan to sleep over with him, he’ll put an effort to make you as comfortable as possible.
