I came back to ask 2 things cuz my memory is super shitty and I love Riptide but, did Gillion get his old sword back from Jayson when they last fought? Or is it still just stuck to the guy?

I SWEAR he got it back but idk for sure and I’m really concerned about this character whose main abilities revolve around weapon usage going around without a sword.

ALSO WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS TODAY WTF WAS JANUARY 3RD THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN VENEZUELA IS FREE LETS FUCKING GO??! (Before anyone asks, yes I am Venezuelan!)

Alright now the second question (I'm writing it a whole day later) how does...time (?) work in Riptide? Because I was reading the character wikis and I realized Riptide has it's own months; Jay was born Salacia 3rd, Chip was born in Marin 10th and Gillion was born Deluna 22th (Also I find it SUPER COOL that each month is related to their characters, Salacia sounds like Sun, Marin sounds like Marine so it relates to sailors and Deluna is just straight up "Of moon", this is all pretty obvious but still so interesting, Grizzly's a genius!)

So yeah we know those three months, but what about the rest? What are they called? How many are there? Do they follow the rotation of the earth around the sun like ours or do they follow something else? How many days do they have? Do the Undersea and the Oversea have the same calendar? How could that be possible if the light of the sun doesn't reach the Undersea? And If the case is that they use different ones, how does the Undersea measure it's days?

Riptide's world building is so interesting to me guys you have no Idea, If Grizzly ever does an in depth explanation of how everything works I'm throwing a party.

If anybody has seen that dnd post about the moral implications of cross species relationship agegaps and if it is okay for different species to date when they have different ages of maturity that dont always line up with the morals of their partner species, could you tag me in it or send it to me?

DnD Questions

Im doing my first DnD session, and I know what I WANT my character to be (backstory, goals, previous employment) but I don’t have any idea what the race & class should be.

they’re a necromanced corpse who was dead for at least two years, their goals are to find out who murdered them and who necromanced them. They used to be a pirate, but their crew all joined another ship or got killed as well.

their hobbies are knot tying, inspecting fish, interrogating, and climbing.

What race & class would be best suited for this character? (name is a WIP)

does anyone know of any demon-repellent spells (or similar spells that could be tweaked to be a demon-harming spell) in any of the editions of d&d? i need it… for writing purposes…

do you have any music genres/specific songs associated with your campaign??

So I haven’t really thought of this much because I usually don’t have any ambient music throughout the campaign usually due to technical issues for us online. But I always circle back to video game music like animal crossing and undertale.

Originally this campaign was inspired by animal crossing (having a museum and filling it with trinkets) but as it got more serious it got a bit darker. I’d like to say Hollow Knight and Undertale soundtracks fit a bit better because it has a cute appearance with a bit of a darker side as you go into it. Classic Lord of the Rings Inspires me as well. If we’re at the table I use WoW music sometimes too.

The players themselves have made personal playlists which I love, Salyx has a lot of Wicked songs in their soundtrack because lol green and parent issues lol.

It’s also come to my attention that music isn’t brought up enough in game. I’ve never run for a Bard in this setting. Even with NPCs. This gives me a new incentive to make a bard npc for them now lol

If I’m going to play a hexblade warlock and soulknife rogue multiclass, and if the dnd character is going to be more rogue, how many levels should I take into hexblade for like the best optimized build? 😭

Question about DnD on Discord

I know its always better in person but most of the people i know who want to play live distances great enough to not make it convenient to get together. My question, if you have run Dungeons & Discord before what did you do to make it as good of an experience for the players as possible? Asking as a new DM, I've run a few one shots but i have a group gearing up to start a longer campaign so i just want to make it as fun and welcoming for everyone as possible. Any tips would be appreciated. Players or Dungeon Masters, all perspectives could help!
