The demons invade my dreams

Just because it’s in the past doesn’t mean it’s over.  They have latched onto my mind and they haunt my dreams.  We never forget.  The pain breeds itself in their absence.  There is no peace when I sleep.  They take over my dreams and I wake up in agony and turmoil.  

There is a multitude of idiots who keep promoting, “Just don’t think about it.”  This is so idiotic!  The mind doesn’t work that way.  When you hurt someone, you don’t get the right to tell them it’s in the past and to just stop thinking about it.  They are not doing this to themselves.  It has been done to them.  I do not support this empty way of thinking and people lying to themselves and those who are hurting.  Stop telling someone who is hurting to stop thinking about it because it doesn’t work like that!  You stupid insensitive!  Get real with yourselves so you can be real with others.  You don’t have to be an asshole in the face of pain and hurt.  

I can’t stop thinking about it when the demons still haunt my dreams.

SOCIAL DISTANCING DAY 188. My standard @Starbucks order—tall coffee of the day and a “venti” (large) ice water. Literally the cheapest drink they sell plus the water is free. $2.30something. It’s a thing I do for me. Got to the window to pay and the woman at the register cheerfully announced that the car ahead of me had paid for my order—and then fell a beat where I computed that it would be *nice* of me to keep paying it forward, or backward or however you think of it. “Sure, of course, I’ll pay for the car behind me.” “It’s $8.5[something]—do you still want to?” A half beat. “Of course!
