I decided to replay Doom 3, and while I was in the middle of blasting demons apart with a shotgun a thought struck me.
In franchises like Doom, Hell comes to Earth and makes itself known in a rather blatant fashion. To anyone living in these universes, the fact that Hell and demons are real is undeniable.
…so why don’t these people realize that the opposite might also be true?
If Hell exists, why not Heaven?
If the Devil is real, why not God?
It’s worth noting that there are very few religions that feature a Hell like the one seen in these games. It’s almost a uniquely Christian concept.
I guess what I’m getting at here is that it seems like a freakish and direct invasion of Earth from Hell itself should be the catalyst of a massive worldwide Christian movement and spiritual reawakening.
So where is it?
Where are the faithful, the converts, and the hopeful?
