Let me just get this straight. Living in Roswell, New Mexico, we have:

• Max Evans | Jackson Kenner. Married to Hayley Marshall. Supposedly deceased x2.

• Jenna Cameron | Freya Mikaelson. Married and has a son. Aunt to Hayley Marshall's child through Klaus Mikaelson.

• Ann Evans | Dahlia. Sister of Esther Mikaelson and aunt to her children, including Freya Mikaelson. Took Freya as a child and held her prisoner for centuries. Attempted to kill Hayley Marshall's and Klaus Mikaelson's daughter. Killed Aiden, one of Jackson Kenner's best friends. Supposedly deceased.

• Rosa Ortecho | Kayla McInnis. Newly-turned werewolf that Hayley Marshall used to babysit.

• Kyle Valenti | Tyler Lockwood. Supposedly deceased werewolf/hybrid x2. Was friends with Hayley Marshall before she betrayed him to Klaus, inadvertently getting his mother killed. Tyler kidnapped her while pregnant because her child belonged to Klaus and could therefore sire a new army of hybrids. Hated Klaus Mikaelson.

• Nora Truman | Vicki Donovan. Dated Tyler Lockwood and found peace together. Supposedly deceased x3.

• Maria Deluca | Maggie James. Worked for the Augustine Society under Dr. Whitmore in "studying vampire behaviour" in the 1950s. Supposedly deceased.

• Jesse Manes | Dr. Whitmore. Worked at Whitmore college and studied/experimented on vampires for the Augustine Society, founded by his family. Supposedly deceased.

• Travis | John Gilbert. Elena Gilbert's biological father. Sacrificed himself in order to save Elena from Klaus Mikaelson's weird and super unnecessary ritual. Supposedly deceased.

So, what I'm getting from this is that Roswell has become the place for people who have faked their deaths to escape the drama of Mystic Falls and New Orleans to hide out in peace? Okay, okay, I see you... who's next on the list?

I'm just thinking about the fact that if Damon hadn't killed Joseph, there is a good chance that Stefan would have ended up in Augustine as well. Because, like, he clearly showed up at the house because Joseph contacted him, just a little late, so if Joseph had still been alive, he would have definitely vervained Stefan as well and given him to Whitmore at the same time.

To make my Roswell, New Mexico x The Vampire Diaries crossover headcanons clearer:

• Maria's grandmother was experimented on at Caulfield

• Caulfield was founded and run by the Manes family, Jesse's ancestors, so they could experiment on/torture aliens

And then we have:

• Maggie worked at Augustine in the 40s but didn't know what was actually going on there

• Augustine was a society founded and run by the Whitmore family so they could experiment on/torture vampires

THEREFORE:

• GRANDMA PATTY = MAGGIE

• THE "MANES" MAN AT THAT TIME = DR. WHITMORE

• CAULFIELD = AUGUSTINE

• Dr Whitmore is an ancestor of Jesse Manes and experimented on Maggie James, Maria's grandmother, while she was working there and most likely had a vampire compel her to forget each time. Combining that with the actual experimentation could be what lead to the DeLuca women gaining psychic powers.
