Seokjin massaged his temples, feeling yet another sigh escape his lips. He was tired of dealing with this over and over again.
“You were checking her out, I know you were!” you pointed an accusing finger at your husband.
“How many times do I have to tell you that I wasn’t? You’re the only one for me, Y/N, and I wouldn’t even think of leaving you, especially not since you’re carrying our child!” Seokjin shot back.
Your hand rested on your swollen baby bump as your lips drooped into a frown. You know Seokjin was right, you know that you were probably making this a bigger deal than it should be, but the fiery pit of jealousy was starting to consume you.
“You’re just telling me that so you can shut me up, don’t lie to me,” you said. Your eyes shot a cold, hard stare at Seokjin.
“Let’s not do this now, Y/N, I need a break. We both know how stressful work is for me and I don’t want to exhaust myself even further,” Seokjin began.
You huffed. “Fine.” As you both retired to bed, your thoughts were still swirling in your mind like a hurricane. You took a deep breath and assured yourself it was just the hormones speaking. Deep down in your heart, you know Seokjin would never do anything to hurt you.
Once you woke up, you were met with an empty space beside you.
“Seokjin must’ve left for work,” you thought to yourself out loud. As you prepared breakfast for yourself. Then a thought popped into your head.
You recalled Seokjin telling you he had a day off on this date, and if he wasn’t at work, you couldn’t think of any other place he would be. Suddenly, you heard a buzz.
Seokjin’s phone vibrated on the table. You picked it up to see a text sent from Sohee, the girl yo and Seokjin were arguing about last night.
Sohee: I’m waiting for you at the park, don’t be late!
Next to the words was a heart emoji. A hint of suspicion crept from the pits of your stomach. You wanted to believe what you thought wasn’t true, but there was still that nagging feeling that it was. Deciding to figure this out for yourself, you went to the park where Sohee was planning to meet your husband.
You stood next to a tree and spotted the brunette girl sitting on a bench with a warm smile that graced her lips. A few minutes ticked by. Seokjin was not in sight.
You let out a sigh of relief. You knew you could trust him.
But just as you were about to leave, you heard a voice. A familiar voice, the one that soothed you when you woke up with nightmares, the one uttered the very three words that made your heart more than flutter.
“Sohee, I’ve been waiting for so long to see you.”
There he was. Seokjin. Your Seokjin.
After taking Sohee into his arms, he left a quick yet loving peck on her lips. The same ones he used to give you every morning before he left for work.
The two jolted once they heard your sharp voice.
“I knew I was right about you all along.”
“Y-Y/N, it’s not what you think: Seokjin blurted out.
“And all this time, I thought you loved me.” You let out a humorless laugh.
Seokjin darted to grab your wrist, but as soon as his fingers grazed your skin, you yanked your hand away as if you had let it sit on fire.
“Don’t touch me,” you seethed. Your eyes were threatening to spill with hearts and you felt like you couldn’t breathe. You needed to get out of here.
Without looking where you were going, you ran away as fast as you could. Away from Seokjin and away from this mess.
Seokjin’s eyes widened. “Y/N!”
The next few seconds were in slow motion.
Your body landed to the ground with a thud, pooling into a bloody mess. The driver whose car had hit you got out of his heat along with a crowd of people gathering at your body as Seokjin could make out a few words calling for an ambulance.
He couldn’t hear Sohee’s cries as he ran to you. All he could do was replay what happened over and over and over again. He was waiting, hoping, he would wake up from this nightmare, but he never did. Because he would never find you sleeping soundly next to him anymore, and he would never hear your soft voice tell him everything was okay. You were gone. And this time, it wasn’t a dream, it was real.
