Miraculous Theoretical Reboot Concept Art—Lukagami

So I really wanted to post this Lukagami Art I made for my Miraculous Theoretical reboot—you know, the one with Emily as the Ladybug in it and fusion powers? No? Well, it is kinda half baked at the moment, but the it’s basically a rewrite with extra steps. (You know how Spider-Man has, like, ten adaptations? This is like an adaptation concept rather than a critical rewrite, if that makes sense.) And in this version of the story, this Lukagami ship is a thing. Now, Believe it or not, I actually like Feligami in the show proper—there’s a certain vibe to it that just makes it so entertaining to watch. And honestly, I get why the show didn’t go with Luka and Kagami as a ship instead, but I promise I thought about it a lot, and this just works better for what I’m doing.

For one thing, I reworked the powers of the dragon a bit—

And when I say a bit, I actually mean a lot. Completely new power set, weapon and miraculous. The power is a sort of Taunt ability that makes the user the center of attention, basically making it so that enemies can’t take their eyes off the user. Since the ability is less offensive now, and the user needs a way to protect themselves from oncoming attacks while other holders finish the fight, I gave her a more defensive weapon—a kite. It acts as a sort of shield/hand-glider/bludgeon, and just seemed more versatile and multi-use than the sword did. The miraculous is also now a hair spike instead of a necklace, with the reason for that being that I just wanted to add more variety to the miraculous pool, and there were already two other necklaces and a choker, so… why not, right?

Anyway, why would this affect shipping? Uh, it’s kind of complicated, but basically the dragon and the snakes power-sets just balance each other now. The Dragon can’t make any mistakes or it’s game over, but the snake can give the dragon a second chance. Vise-versa the snake is usually an immediate target for enemies who know what it does, but does it’s best work when it goes unnoticed, and the dragon’s power can draw attention away from the snake and allow it to do it’s thing. So they kind of just naturally fall into a sort of partnership with each other in that sense. Luka’s character in this version is all about passive observance and helping out on the sidelines, while Kagami is about standing front and center and acting decisively. They just work too well. So, yeah… I don’t know. I’ll probably draw more art of them together sometime so I can show y’all why I think it’s a good idea.

ML AU: The Dragon’s Curse

This Alternative Universe belongs to both @princess-of-the-corner and me, though I’m taking change of it since Corner has so many AUs to keep track of already.

Set in an Medieval Fantasy setting, this AU has Kagami as a princess transformed into a dragon by a curse. She is a dragon during the day and turns back into a human at night, albeit she keeps some dragon traits (eyes, teeth, claws) in her human form. This AU came about while Corner and I were discussing a ML Beauty and Beast AU with Adrien as Belle and Dragon!Kagami as the Beast.

Kagami actually doesn’t mind being a dragon but her mother , Tomoe does so Kagami leaves her home for another kingdom. However, the people in her new home fear that the “terrible dragon” will destroy them so they decide to offer her human sacrifices to appease her.

Kagami initially tries refusing the sacrifices but the people interpret it as them needing to offer “better” sacrifices. So, Kagami decides to take the “sacrifices” to a new village that they can live in.

Using messenger pigeons, the “sacrifices” can sent messages to their families telling them that they are alive with some of the families moving to the village.

The curse Kagami is under can be broken is her true love confesses their feelings for her. The twist is that Kagami doesn’t have only one true love, but three: Adrien, Marinette, and Luka.

Luka and Marinette are two of the most recent “sacrifices” though they volunteered so that the people in their villages (they’re from different villages/towns) wouldn’t fight each other over who’d be sacrificed.

Adrien is the prince of the kingdom and Nino is his best friend; they were both kidnapped and set up to become the Dragon’s sacrifices, a note left behind saying that Adrien had gone to slay the dragon. This was a plot orchestrated by Adrien’s aunt Amelie so that her son Felix would be next in line for the throne (This idea was taken from my Mari Hood AU).

Nino was kidnapped as well because it would have been odd for Adrien to leave on a quest without his best friend.

Adrien doesn’t know who was in on the plan to kidnap him so he can’t sent a message to let people know that he’s okay. He also doesn’t know about the note saying he went to slay the dragon, only that no one seems to be looking for him and he worries that no one actually cares that he disappeared.

I haven’t decided if Emilie is alive, dead, or in a magic coma through her not being around and Gabriel isolating himself might contribute to Adrien’s fear that not even his father cares that he disappeared.

Luka is a hunter, who is a snake shapeshifter and Kagami is a dragon shapeshifter that he was sent to find.  If you are a lukagami fan, I suggest giving the fic a read. It’s enjoyable! :3
