Rules: List all the things you’re currently working on in as much or little detail as you’d like, then tag some friends to see what they’re working on: writing, art, gifsets, whatever.
I totally got tagged by @ancient-trees to do this. Which, like, makes me really happy because ancient-trees is awesome.
I’ll try not to get too elaborate, but I’m bad at summarizing, and can get carried away.
Project Elshador (which is what I currently call it. I doubt the project as a whole will ever finish, but the different aspects of it will be. Elshador is the name of the fictional world most of my stories, comics, etc take place in. It is an ever evolving world (evolving as in, there are a lot of blank spaces on the map, as well as geography changing over time, and magic systems changing. So far it has had a total of 5 different magic systems. It changes due to different cataclysmic events that happen in the world.) Here are some of the different aspects of Project Elshador:
The Dragonscar Chronicles This is the main body of Project Elshador. It consists of 3 (possibly 4) books(titled “Thornheart” “Oathblade”(<this is the one that possibly makes it 4. Unsure if it will be split between the two around it or if it’ll be it’s own) “Dragonscar” and “Gateshard”). At this time the magic and elements are ruled by beings called the Duilri. Well, the Duilri(or King) of Dreams hated his kingdom, being confined to the mental state, so he waged war against the physical world which was defended by the dragons. Thus the great Dragon Dreams war began. When it looked like the dragons were going to win, the King of Dreams created the Dragonscar, a weapon that could destroy a dragon’s mind and magic and possibly kill them. In the end the oldest of the dragons had to seal away the King of Dreams with a powerful spell that also caused himself to be sealed away. The Dragonscar was given to a human king, an ally to the dragons, for safe keeping. But the seal eventually started cracking and the King of Dreams reached out to the weak minded, promising power, and sought his freedom. The first book entails how the Dragonscar was stolen away from the human king (well, there’s a lot more to it than that, but there’s the gist). Book two goes into how it effected those characters and how it was sealed away between our world and Elshador. Book 3 brings the Dragonscar back to Elshador to defeat the King of Dreams once and for all and freeing the Elder dragon. Book 4 goes into the aftermath how ending one of the 12 Duilri disrupted the magical balance so much, that if they don’t balance things out again, it could mean the end of the world. This series has a lot of intertwining plots and characters. It’s been in development for.... 8 years now.
It has scattered pieces here and there. Book 3 (which was originally the ONLY book) has had a complete rough draft written out and finished (thanks to NaNoWriMo). World count had reached well over 100k words. More like 150k. The first in the series (Thornheart) has about 75k words written on it (again thanks to NaNoWriMo). I also have piles of concept art as well as artworks I commissioned from different artists involving the various characters. Not to mention notebooks full of notes and world building specifically for these stories.
Dragon Fall A relatively new concept that hasn’t been around for long and is mostly just a concept. Mostly a romance that takes place hundreds of years after The Dragonscar Chronicles. This will be a comic that will explain what happens to the world after it’s magical “reset” and what happened to the dragons since the reset causes them to loose most of their magical ability.
Ebony Mist This is a side story that goes along the same timeline as Dragonscar Chronicles. It’s a romance (almost like my version of Beauty and the Beast). It had a rough version on Wattpad that got to 21 “parts” (or really short chapters) before I went to rewrite it, and currently the rewrite has 4 chapters. Both versions are on Wattpad.
Jewels of Friendship (name might be changed) A comic I started a long long time ago that was just supposed to be a funny little fantasy-esq comic about my friend and I as a couple of adventurous elves. Well, it got two chapters completed a long time ago (with cringe-worthy middle-school art), with the whole rest of it planned out. Well, it dawned on me that it very well could be set in Elshador. It takes place way before the Dragon and Dreams war, before there were the Duilri, when the world’s magic depended on magic crystals. The main villain wants to see the world turn to chaos so goes and destroys the crystals while the heroes (a nice sized fellowship of them) have to stop him. It’s more of an adventure comedy more than anything else, and a lot of the characters were friends or family that wanted to be inserted as part of it.
Elfy’s Quest I always have WIP pages for this comic series. Currently I have two comics, one involving me reading and getting upset about a character’s death (happens too often...) and another about me and playing video games (and involves chocolate).
Commissions I’ve kind of been putting a lot of these off, but I have several art commissions in progress. Probably about 5 altogether. I really need to get onto them. But it’s been hard with moving and still trying to get the new house together while on a lot of overtime at work.
Well, I think that’s about it for now. I probably have other WIP but they were set to the side for the move, so I’m not counting them right now.
So I guess I’ll tag @darksabreassassin and @orangestrawberry15 and... um... *realizing she doesn’t have that many friends on tumblr and uses it mostly to follow art and writing blogs*. I guess just you two. I’m curious as to what you guys are working on! Lol!
