If you want my opinion, I think the Dragon Slippers trilogy is the best example of a found family trope because the found family is the human main character, her best friend and kind-of dad figure the king of the dragons, his wife the queen of the dragons (also the real leader since dragons are matriarchs), and their hatchlings, who the main character is the godmother of.
