Prehistoric Dragon from Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real
Clatterjaw from Sawyer Lee's Dragonslayer Codex
Skeletal of the strangler giant from the dragonslayer codex. Kinda wish I used a thinner line thickness.
It’s basically built like a gibbon trying to be a honse, but with thumbs and perpetually shrugging shoulders apparently.
Here’s my entry for @sawyerleeart ‘s #codexcontest. The large legs and feet gave me the impression of a semi-aquatic animal.
The fossil this is based on, for reference.
Fanart of @sawyerleeart's red racer. You should definitely check him out, his dragon designs are fire (pun very much intended).
The Dragonslayer Codex is definitely one of my favorite Online Worldbuilding Projects.

You're not gonna see me post a whole lot about non-Owl House media on this page since that's generally the piece of fiction I like yapping about the most and coming up with all these intrinsic theories, headcanons, and overall analyses regarding all these characters I love and world itself.
But I just wanted to put an aside here from the usual program to just say that DRAGONSLAYER CODEX IS SO GODDAMN COOL Y'ALL. Like if you're a fan of speculative biology, superb creature design, fantasy worlds, and extensive world building, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's just so, so cool.
Have you heard about Sawyer Lee's Dragonslayer Codex? If yes, what do you think about it?
I love the Dragonslayer Codex!
So me and @raptorcivilization used to run a conference called the Specposium; online conference in the style of an academic one where people could give talks on the topic of speculative evolution, and this is where I first met Sawyer Lee and he presented his Dragonslayer Codex project, and it was fantastic!
The kickstarter for this project can be found here!
I don't have deviantart anymore so I have not been keeping up with the project (there have been several more dragons since I last checked). To check out Sawyer Lee's dragons visit his Deviant Art
I think the funnest idea was a sword fighting dragon; the Sicklemouth is a dragon with a large protruding jawbone that it uses to fence and joust with other dragons, and can be used to train dragonslayers in sword skills (sword vs jawbone protrusion)
My favourite of the Dragonslayer dragons is the Gilded Whisperwurm, it's everything a dragon should be - long coils, flamboyant frills, terrifying claws, a mythical serpent turned into a deadly dragon.
I really adore every dragon design and lore. It reminds me a lot of Monster Hunter (a game I love) with dragon species names reminiscent of HTTD books (book series I loved as a kid) while the illustration style is far more mature and absolutely delectable to look at. I can't wait to get a copy of the Dragonslayer Codex and I recommend everyone that enjoys following my blog should go to his deviantart page and indulge in some dragon time.

So with the removal/extreme sidelining of CoS from my crossover project SYNCED due to recent changes around the project's direction. I've decided to visualize a sort of sendoff to Sonaria in a more poetic way by having the various Spec Evo n Fantasy projects currently in SYNCED and Spec Evo and Fantasy projects I've been considering adding to it by basically trying to claim dominance over Sonaria.
In my idea for the background of the art I've made, Sonaria is going through some sort of Ecological collapse in the world of SYNCED due to countless ammounts of Species from other Projects pouring into Sonaria.
Due to Sonaria itself being a Island continent, and all the CoS species as of recent basically throwing realism to the wayside. I'd imagine that since the species of Sonaria themselves being hyperspecialized for the niche of fantasy end up being wiped out extremely quickly thanks to how much more realism oriented the other species in the other projects are, and thus, they've ended up being more sucessful at their niches by comparison. Outcompteting the Sonarian Species by an utter landslide.
This depicts the last Kendyll, and by extension, last Apex Carnivore on Sonaria meeting a quite Grizzly end at the hands of the notorious Predaking, an Draconomorphine Predacon who used his universal translator to help convince various individuals to orchestrate a trap so they could ambush the Kendyll and outright murk it without a chance to fight back. Thus allowing them to claim the title of Vassal and obtain a meal that will feed them for days, if not, weeks. Whilst also Providing the Predaconian Tyrant with a bit of Entertainment.
