I cant stop thinking of this blog it's so cool. May i ask how exactly you come up with all the different types of cats and how you describe them?
I'm glad you're enjoying the cats! And there's no magic formula for making these, I just throw vegetables in the pot until I'm happy with the resulting soup. I've been running this game on forums for over a decade, and I'm quite pleased with the description style I've developed! And nice, a rare gift for you! I will say, uncommons and rares are much harder to make. There's so many more options! The magic of the Pure Tone is exactly what you'd expect btw: think like dnd style spells, but you have to modulate a mental pitch to control the spell weaving instead of an incantation. And you get cool eyes. 95 - Rare
Kingfisher (he/him) is a medium-furred blue-and-white tom with complex polychromatic eyes, evidence of the magic of the Pure Tone. His fur is a dark, steely grey, like the underbelly of a stormcloud. His underbelly, chest, neck, and throat are pure white by contrast, with a ridge of blue-grey fur separating the two colors in a thin line. A dark grey "collar"--even darker than the rest of his fur--wraps around his neck; his paws, muzzle and his tail-tip are a similar dark shade. His tail has a white ring at the tip, and a white wedge marks the bridge of his nose. A blue-grey mask frames his stunning eyes.
Cats that practice the magic of the Pure Tone find their eye color changing to align with the magic they use. Kingfisher's eyes have a wide variety of hues, bragging his mastery over many types of magic. His left eye is crimson on the bottom and golden at the top. A wedge of pure black cuts through the gold at the 10 o'clock position, and an arc of silver lies over it all, like a crescent moon on the left side of the iris. As for his right, this eye is a vertical gradient of earth tones: blue fades to turquoise fades to mossy green before reaching a loamy hazel. A violet diamond is cut from the upper right quadrant of this eye, and sparks of various blues fleck the iris in twinkling colors.
Kingfisher is confident to the point of arrogance. After stealing the secret of the Pure Tone and spending the subsequent winter spending every spare moment practicing its magic, Kingfisher feels more than merely strong, he feels invincible, untouchable. He has magic at his beck and call, able to accomplish feats a normal cat would not even dare imagine, and Kingfisher relishes his newfound power. While not the strongest or smartest, Kingfisher is determined and possesses an ironclad force of will. He quickly progressed past humming and subvocalizing the Pure Tone, now able to mentally call upon the Tone and its Harmonies at will. If he continues experimenting with magics he doesn't understand, he will surely find himself burned… but for now, this tomcat is able to do what he wants, whenever he wants, consequences be damned.
