Plot twist - Sammy’s family just hate the fact she dyed her hair.
I know we’re working on cartoon logic for this, but I still can’t get over the implication that all those eggs are still viable.
I mean really, they went through multiple drastic temperature changes and environmental changes, and they were repeatedly tossed around and/or dropped like they were nothing.
Even if any of them survived, there’s no way you’d actually get a healthy, able-bodied dino from those eggs, they went from being surrounded by fire and to plunged into an ocean within minutes.
Now that they’re older, I wonder if any of them ever realized how negligent Roxie and Dave actually were during the 4-5 days they had of Camp Cretaceous.
To be fucking fair, they actually did their jobs and, for the most part, were relatively decent.
It's just that Masrani happened to choose the kids that just happened to be most statistically likely to get themselves killed through bullshit.
Hell, they're the only ones who went back to try and get the kids, everyone else was too busy doing whatever the fuck they were doing.
Honestly, I wouldn’t even say relatively decent.
- Three children snuck out the first night of camp, two of them almost died, and they didn’t immediately report it or let their parents know.
Also, they didn’t even check in on or comfort them after the fact. These were two kids that were almost ripped apart by raptors, a situation where one of them would’ve had watched the other be killed first, and they didn’t even seem to consider that it could’ve been a traumatizing experience.
- They left two kids, who had snuck out and almost died the night before, completely unattended while having them scoop large amounts of animal shit with no PPE; no masks, no gloves, no eye protection, etc.
If Darius and Kenji hadn’t snuck off they would have been for hours, which, realistically, would have led to serious health issues. And even then, they snuck off again, and almost died a second time, which they were only able to do because they were left unsupervised.
- They didn’t have any protective instincts when it came to Dr. Wu, a grown man, getting physical with a 13 year old girl in their care.
Seriously, he pushed her, and they just stood there and didn’t say a word.
- I wouldn’t say the thing that happened with the gyrosphere was inherently negligent, the kids were taught how to use them and were trusted to use them around dinosaurs so leaving them alone isn’t a big deal in of itself, but at the same time, they left three kids with a history of lying, sneaking off, and general rule breaking unattended.
They knew Kenji had behavioral issues from the beginning and that he was prone to showboating, they knew Darius, Kenji, and Brooklynn snuck out the first night because they wanted to see dinosaurs and that Darius and Kenji lied about what happened, and they knew Brooklynn had been sneaking around in the labs and doing something in the labs that warranted her getting them all kicked out.
One of them should have stayed behind knowing how half of the group behaves when they aren’t around, but because they didn’t the kids (minus Ben and Sammy) got themselves into danger that could’ve been prevented if an adult was watching them.
- And then the day after that they left them alone again, and even Dave said it was a bad idea and they shouldn’t do it. Outside of plot reasons, there’s no reason Roxie couldn’t have went alone and left Dave with the kids.
And even though it was the best thing that could’ve happened in the grand scheme of things since the kids would’ve died if they hadn’t have snuck out, it doesn’t make them any less negligent.
-
Like, on the whole I don’t think Dave and Roxie are bad people or anything, but they were incompetent and not at all qualified to be counselors, let alone look after children. They repeatedly left kids who they knew broke rules and got themselves into danger when they’re alone unsupervised because… reasons.
They went back for them, sure, but that’s like, the bare minimum you do when you’re the ones who left six children alone when you know you shouldn’t have to begin with.
Also, pretty much everyone else was trying to manage a crisis. You can’t really blame them for not dropping everything to help find six kids when the Indominus was out on a killing spree and, by the time Dave and Roxie actually got into contact with anyone, the Pterosaurs were out and actively attacking and killing guests. A camp with six kids was not their priority when the main park, which hosted about twenty thousand visitors daily, was currently under attack.
Now that they’re older, I wonder if any of them ever realized how negligent Roxie and Dave actually were during the 4-5 days they had of Camp Cretaceous.
I might’ve just sprained my ankle and I’m on my way to the hospital, and I just wanna ask-
YASMINA FADOULA, HOW ON EARTH DID YOU KEEP GOING???
🚨GET YOUR CLOTHES BACK ON SEASON 3 JUST GOT CONFIRMED WITH A SYNOPSIS🚨
Wait wait wait wait wait- CRASH LAND INTO ADVENTURE???
Guys, I’ve been dreaming of an airplane episode /scene where Sammy and Yasmina just get to sit and be girlfriends while Darius is sitting awkwardly the middle of Ben and Kenji and trying to get them to make up. (Yeah, the plane may crash and the pilot may die, but they’re used to that kind of thing by now.)
The way the show handled Kenji’s rock climbing school actually pisses me off because this is genuinely a big thing for him and he just gets clowned on for it.
Like, opening your own rock climbing school takes a lot of work. Kenji would have needed to get all sorts of certifications, permits, licenses, insurance and more to get started. He needs to source equipment from legitimate companies, which is expensive as hell, and put time and money into advertising and getting a location to teach at, and then actually have to spend time with the kids to teach them how to do it.
In season 1 of Camp Cretaceous he mentions wishing he learned just about anything before going to camp, now he literally has at least first aid certification. And in season 2 of Chaos Theory he even brings up how he used to always take the easy way out and that’s what people expect of him, but now he literally started his own business that requires tons of work to get started and maintain, which he’s doing, and just no one acknowledges it. It’s made it out to be something cringy because he showed them a box of glow in the dark stickers, which he might’ve designed himself.
Like he’s trying so hard to do something meaningful, and has been doing so for about a year, and just none of his friends are supportive of him.
It feels good to be back :D
Nah cause Ben was completely justified not telling anyone about Brooklynn until he had evidence. The last time he tried to tell them something it took multiple near death experience for them to be like ‘yeah so we’re being hunted.’
EXACTLY.
Okay not to project but it's so clear Ben has paranoia, and as a professional paranoia haver, I can confidently say there are SO many reasons he wouldn't have told them until he had SOLID PROOF.
1)There's a very high chance he wasn't even sure he saw it frl himself, there have been so many times I saw things clear as day but still went into a panic because I wasn't sure if it was real or not.
2)He's very much known as "The Paranoid One" in the friend group, has been since CC, and I don't mean that in a sense that the others dumb him down to JUST his paranoia, but when you have such intense paranoia, it is something that people will think about unfortunately. As you said, he literally just went on a trek to make sure all of them would be okay because they were BEING HUNTED and it took multiple attacks for anyone to believe him, not because they thought he was kying, but because they thought he was being paranoid over a misunderstanding.
3)You try telling your friends that your dead friend (in which one of them SAW THE CRIME SCENE+GORE OF IT) isn't actually dead and is actually undercover, that's not easy.
Tl;dr-Ben was not at all in the wrong and I will die on this hill
Literally all of this^
And to add onto your point, I remember people blaming him because he could’ve just taken a screenshot to prove it was real, but that’s not always an option and it really shows that a lot people don’t know how paranoia and hallucinations work/affect people but still feel like they can speak on it as if they do.
~
For anyone who doesn’t know, taking screenshots, photos, or videos, or even just looking in a mirror, aren’t always going to prove hallucinations aren’t there.
Sometimes they will show the person that it’s not real, but there are times when they won’t. It’ll still show up because your brain is convinced that they’re real and it could make it worse.
~
And to round back to CT, ben rewatched the video multiple times, and he still believed that it might not have been real. A screenshot would not have helped him at all.
I've been thinking more about Sammy and what her issue(s) with her parents could be because they couldn't make them straight up homophobic without retconning the end of Camp Cretaceous - Her dad hugging her and Yasmina when they got back or the fact that both of her parents and her abuela were okay with letting Yasmina stay over for the summer and were supportive of her moving to Texas for college after the 1.5-2 year timeskip.
I think the main issue might just be her being vegetarian, because to a family of commercial beef farmers that's essentially denouncing their entire livelihood, especially since she won’t be continuing the family business because of it. And considering she's the oldest by a few years, that could have an effect on her younger siblings and to her parents that would mean an end to the business they worked so hard to create, and it would sting even more to know it’s because their kids think what they’re doing and what they've done is morally wrong.
And even though she brought up feeling safe in Season 2, that can still track because a lot of homes are unsafe for vegetarian kids. Sammy’s only 20, maybe 21 depending on her birthday, so odds are she went vegetarian as a teenager while still living with her parents. That could've easily caused tension, if not arguments, between them. And to a teenager, especially if they have been generally chill beforehand, their parents screaming and yelling can be scary and make them feel unsafe.
If they do go with homophobia, I don't think they’ll take the “her parents are flat out homophobic towards her and Yasmina in an explicitly hateful way” route, I think they'll go with them being homophobic by prioritizing bigots for the sake of keeping the peace. Still homophobic, but in a way fits what we've seen of them.
Like, they’ll accept and support them at home, but they'll also introduce Yasmina to people as Sammy’s best friend, ask Sammy to keep having a girlfriend to herself at family reunions, and won't shut down certain kinds of homophobia from relatives, kids at school, or other people in their community because “everyone has a right to their opinions” or something along that line.
I have a Kenji post coming up, and I just realized that we don’t know if Kenji actually is struggling financially. The only mention of it was from Ben, Darius, and Sammy, when there were making assumptions because he lives in a trailer now.
Darius confusing the smell of smoke with the smell of hay will always get me.
All the explosions he’s caused and seen and he still doesn’t know the smell of smoke? He even owns a grill-
I just realized that Carl was (probably) found dead on/very close to Sammy’s property after months of issues, documented issues, between them, and now Sammy is no where to be found.
Could you imagine if The Handler and Santos tried to frame her for it when she gets back to cover their tracks?
She's 100% like the main suspect for his murder already cuz yk he died on her property and she just vanished.
I don’t think that would be the case, but I’m assuming one, or more, of the atrociraptors was the one who killed him.
If they were, then his injuries, and the DNA samples from them, would prove her innocent (unless gave an awful description of Bumpy).
I don't really know how they would have attacked him in his car, it wasn't really broken and he was still perfectly in the drivers seat. I always thought one of them like got his door open somehow and he freaked out, hit Sammy's fence and smacked his head on the wheel
I rewatched that part of the episode, he didn’t hit the fence, it was intact and they probably would’ve heard him crash.
It looks like he parked the car, opened the door, and just didn’t see the raptor coming.
But I see what you mean, because it really doesn’t look like a dinosaur attack at all. (At least not without seeing his front.)

Since he was killed by one of the atrociraptors, it’d just be classified as a carnivorous dinosaur attack and Sammy would have assumed to have had a trauma-based response and fled.*
But imagine if The Handler and Santos tweaked the crime scene a little before anyone noticed that Carl and/or Sammy was gone, so they could frame her for it and cover their tracks?
~
*(Unless Carl didn’t accurately describe what kind of dinosaur Bumpy is and they assumed she attacked him, either by herself or with Sammy’s direction.)
I find it both funny and concerning that so many people in the fandom flipped out over the age gap between a 13 year old girl and a 15 year old boy who were close friends before dating, without even having birthdays to go off of, but now practically no one is saying anything when that same girl is now 19 and being shipped with the woman in her 30s/40s that has tried to kill her multiple times an tortured her.
People were straight up nasty to Brooklynn x Kenji shippers over the age gap, but her and Santos are fine apparently despite there being a massive in canon age difference and power/experience/maturity imbalance. (Not that I want them to be nasty to shippers, it’s just that the difference in reactions is striking.)
Shippers be crazy
I think that’s also an issue with queer ships in general, they get a lot more leeway than straight ships. Which I kind of get, because let’s be real, as queer people, we’re still desperate for representation whereever we can get it, but it‘s completely hypocritical. If Kenji or Yasmina turned 16 before Ben or Sammy turned 15 there would be no issues. Literally none at all.
As long as one character isn't outright a minor, age gaps, unbalanced power dynamics, and literal toxicity and/or abuse in queer relationships get very little criticism, at least at first (cough Stolas/Blitzø cough for the abuse and power dynamics, and the fact that it took 3+ years for people to catch on) (And Heartstopper too - literally nothing wrong with the age gap, but it’s the same as Brooklynn and Kenji’s and I've never seen anyone say anything bad about it.)
And another in-canon example; if Sammy was a boy, he would absolutely be under fire for everything he did to Yaz, from trying to force a friendship onto her in the beginning to the literal forced physical contact with that “I’m not really a hugger.” / “You are now.” scene. (Sammy couldn't actually tell that she was smiling and receptive to it, that was solely for audiance to know that Yaz was actually okay with it. As far as Sammy would've known, Yaz said she wasn't a hugger and her own ignoral of Yaz’s statement [and lack of consent] just proved that she [Sammy] was right about how Yaz just needed someone else to essentially make that decision for her.) (That being said, not a lot of people had an issue with Kenji in season 1, most likely because he never actually touched her, it was just when him and Brooklynn became canon did people freak out about it. Like they'll sleep on actual problematic behavior and jump on six months of character growth and mutual affection between them.)
Wait, Brooklynn still doesn’t have a last name-
