Creating fan work for your favourite shows and couples..
I love my 'ships'. I love being a Clintasha fan, Barson fan, Dyfty fan..but the thing is I know how 2/3 of those ships end, and now I write fanfiction for them. I can make up my own story, my own ending. Don't like an ending? Rewrite it.
Fanfiction is a place where you can create the story, give them the storylines you want, the endings tragic or happy, stories full of hope or despair, romantic love or platonic love. Actions, romance, Sci fi.... There are lots of possibilities with each story I produce. Draw inspiration from life events, the news, comics, music, and other such sources.
Fanfiction or Making Videos or doing Fanart or making podcasts, is the ideal was to get you ending or the ending and character development you want.
Take my Holby couple Dofty. I don't like where the writers have taken either character, so you know what? I'm going to create my own ending, my own writing that I believe reflects their characters. It's a personal choice of course, then I am going to draw a line under them, and move on.
I remind myself of this so often now. I can change the story. Will it ever be on screen? Highly unlikely (never say never), but it will make me and hopefully other fans happier.
