question: I thought I was trans for the past 2 years because I was uncomfy with my agab and thought it was dysphoria.
turns out I was just uncomfy with the roles surrounding my agab and I’m actually cis. but there are still things about my agab that make me feel really shitty (dysphoric?) and so I guess the question is ‘is it normal to cis people to feel bad about their agab or do I need to question my gender again’
disclaimer that I still fully support trans rights. and I don’t regret identifying as trans for a bit bc it taught me valuable things about queer people and helped me understand the complexity of my own gender better
Yes, sometimes. Especially the part about disliking your AGAB's gender roles- a lot of cis women are uncomfortable with their gender roles ('housewife', 'lady', etc). A lot of cis men are uncomfortable with their gender roles ('tough', etc)
And even not liking your 'gendered' body features is more common in cis people than people think. (ex: cis women not liking their chests, cis men not liking their facial hair, etc)
Or just a desire for gender non-conformity in general can happen. Wanting a higher/lower voice or different chest size or different pronouns or different physical features or to be treated a different way is absolutely something that also happens to cis people. And for detransitioners (like you) it’s pretty common to have a complex relationship with gender and detrans people are often still gender non-conforming.
It’s also possible to be a dysphoric cis person- dysphoria is not as simple as ‘this thing makes you trans and also only trans people can experience it’. Gender is a complicated thing and people often have complex relationships with it.
So in conclusion yes you can absolutely label yourself as cis anon! It’s totally up to wether you want to describe your experiences as transness or dysphoria.
