e.l.f. Mineral Mascara

     It’s about time I reviewed a mascara on this blog.  So here it is!

My biggest complaint about mascaras has always been their shelf-life.  Three months of use and then it is best practice to toss--you don’t want an eye infection.  I got this mascara from the e.l.f. website and was amazed by its cost---$3!

Here is a breakdown of my thoughts regarding this mascara:

Price: At $3, you are getting a very good deal.  The only disadvantage is finding this mascara in stores if you are a brick and mortar shopper.

Formula: This is a wetter formula compared to the e.l.f. 3-in-1 Mascara.  Sadly, the e.l.f. 3-in-1 mascara was a disappointment.  Back to my point, the formula is not wet to the point where you will have raccoon eyes by the end of the day.  I will note that towards the end of its shelf-life, it does tend to get irritating in the eyes. 

Wand:  The wand is plastic and has nubs.  The mascara can easily coat each lash with the wand.  I never had any issues with the mascara looking spidery on my eyelashes.  If you are looking for a natural look, this is a good pick.  For those looking for drama, you might want to skip this one. 

Color: It’s black and that’s all I can really say.  Though, it would be nice if it came in other shades.

Final Verdict:  Mascaras these days are pretty pricey, but this mascara is worth checking out if you are looking for a cheap mascara of good quality.  Plus, it doesn’t hurt that the product is cruelty-free. :D

Target: e.l.f and Pacifica After being cooped up in the house for two days, I ventured out to my local Target and saw the following things be completely marked down. I have tried out the shadows and they have impressive glitter power. Have you recently visited your local Target? What were you able to haul in the clearance areas?

Let's shake things up a bit! Instead of focusing on a particular item and comparing a high-end brand vs. a drugstore brand, let's just focus on the greatness of one particular drugstore brand.

e.l.f. which stands for eyes. lips. face., offers most of their products from anywhere to $1-$7. This includes beauty products as well as beauty tools, such as eyelash curlers, makeup brushes and more.

My personal stash of e.l.f. brand products is currently a bit smaller then usual, simply because I haven't replaced some of the items I've used up! (This isn't the best picture, especially because you can tell these items have been used, but what better way to show a product then in its true glory. And what great publicity for e.l.f.!)

Highlighting just one item, pictured left is e.l.f.'s liquid eyeliner retailing for just $1 at Target. You can't beat that!

Its brush makes it easy to create winged eyeliner or as we use to say for dance recitals, "cat eyes" and the product last you a long time. I've kept the same bottle for up to three months! Honestly, any longer then that and I would suggest it's time to buy a new one due to cleansing issues and wanting fresh formula. 

From personal experience, their line of brushes and blushes are equal to those retailing for double and triple the price.

Every girl wants to be confident and feel beautiful. Not just college girls, but women of all ages strive for quality products that don't need to cost an arm and a leg. Never settle, and don't forget that a bit of research can truly go a long way!
