I had a friend ask me about my ab workout the other day and I thought I’d post it here! A lot of my exercises are from Cassie’s Pop Pilates 10 minute Ab Workout, which is killer and is done to “Call Me Maybe” so no complaints here, A++.
I usually do these reps whenever I’m just watching a TV show or maybe first thing in the morning.
I start out in this position and do full circles, 5 reps each way. Make sure to stabilize your core. You don’t want your whole body moving, just your legs!
I repeat exercise 1 but with straight legs, 5 reps each side
Next, I do 15 reps of these babies. Make sure to relax your neck and don’t come all the way down!
I do these to work the side abdominal muscles. I go back and forth, doing 25 reps on each side. Remember to relax the neck by looking up at the ceiling.
Bicycle abs. I do however many of these I feel like. Usually about 20 reps total.
This is the trickiest exercise I do and I got it from Meghan Currie, queen of core. The trick is to lift your sacrum off the floor without moving your legs at all. You’ll feel it in your lower abdomen. I do about 15 of these.
Another Meghan Currie inspired exercise. Start with your hands over your head. Lift sacrum(like you did in exercise 6), lift arms, squeeze, and lower (not all the way down!). Lift back up. Lower arms, and repeat. These are KILLER and I usually do 10 before I feel like dying. So that’s about it! Really quick ab workout I do daily or every other day and it’s all under 5 minutes!
Just a note: you can’t JUST do these exercises and expect abs to pop up. Remember that a healthy diet with lots of fruits, veggies, and proteins is essential! Abs appear when you reach a certain body fat percentage and can vary with every body.
And an extra note: I love you whether you have abs or not, and so should anybody else who is worth your time. I don’t do ab exercises to get a bikini body. I do them because strengthening your core improves your running, yoga, and lots of other daily activities. Core strength is important and should be a priority if you care about these things :)
Easy ab exercises!?
Just did a 30 sec plank and 40 secs of flutter kicks because my last post inspired me. Does anyone know any like reeeeally easy ab exercises? My abs are so weak that I can't even do most basic exercises even once, so I don't even know where to start. I'm lame haha. Xoxo Kaylin
