edwin x william is actually so funny to me bc their dynamic reminds me of how people in 2020 saw willry's dynamic
also no one can change my mind william afton was a beautiful fat man before he got springlocked for the first time this is quite literally canon and i love him
i will only accept edwill if they have a predator/prey dynamic. william and his favoritest chewtoy he wants to shake in his mouth until it dies like an excited hunting dog with a squirrel; and edwin who is terrified of this man who radiates horrible vibes who takes him out for lunch and is physically affectionate with him, like hes a mouse trapped with the most deceptively nice snake ever.
I know it's been said otherwise but honestly, I actually don't care for the idea of William being responsible for Fiona's death, not now that I know a little more and have thought through it
I don't know why he has to be responsible for every unfortunate happening, he may be one of the villains, but I don't think he started out that sinister, it would have had to develop over time
And I like to see Edwin as moreso a victim of circumstance
Thinking about his relationship with William, it likely didn't start out with much animosity either
The way I like to see it, William used to be a little nicer, though certainly had his habits and unfortunate interest in profit driving his ambition
He and Edwin were on good terms, and he likely would have been happy at the time with his small family, maybe even being supportive of it when Edwin founded his own
However, it's probably greed that begins to corrupt Will from the beginning, along with his already compromised morality that he shared with Henry
But I don't think he'd have any sort of motive to do what he eventually does to Edwin at that point, no
It was probably Fiona's death that happened, being a very unfortunate accident, and then Edwin falls into his despair and yet tries to hide it as best as he can
Both William and Henry reach out in their own ways, though William doesn't do that right off, not until he's left by Elise/Mrs. Afton if that happens in a similar time frame
And then maybe a or a few months after that, when he and Edwin might have had a little more fondness for each other, it gets cut off by the springlock incident occuring
This is where I think his outlook takes a major shift
Somehow, he'd come to learn that the suit that nearly killed him was the version of it Edwin had designed, the one that he didn't ask for, since he still wanted to believe his and Henry's version was better, and I bet it gets proved right then to him that it was, though in actuality, of both mechanisms were faulty, it was probably just the concept itself
But anyway, that's when all bets would be off
It was already enough that he couldn't prevent the incident, being caught in the crossfire of something partially his making, something that should have been safe to use
But now it was from someone he thought he could trust? Who went behind his back and made something that dangerous? (I don't think he'd see this rationally, he wouldn't realize that Edwin tried to help, he'd be too caught up in his pain and the sense of betrayal he felt)
William would develop a sudden seething hatred for Edwin, but he wouldn't exercise it instantly, no, I think he'd get close to that point, perhaps have at least one confrontation with him, but for the most part, he'd try to think about how he wanted to deal with the problem that was now someone he knew, seeing him in a worse and worse regard each day
And I think Henry would look down on him a little too, acknowledging that he could have lost William to Edwin's hand indirectly
So then William gets his ideas, nudges Henry a little through his words and charm, and then they start getting a bit more possessive over everything Edwin made
William gets much more calculated from these events, and maybe he's responsible for David, but I'm not sure he does that intentionally
Although it would make sense if he did that to add to pushing Edwin over the edge
Of course, that works in the end, a little too well, and Will and Henry probably think the guy did something to himself, likely never knowing the truth of Edwin's disappearance
Now this part obviously wouldn't be canon, but for anyone wondering how the EdWill would work under these circumstances, check under the cut
Though it's not just that, it's also some more brainstorming for how this would all work
Now I did say that William could have had a possible confrontation with Edwin
Say that the confrontation is somewhat of a fight, and unfortunately, because I think William is like that, his feelings for Edwin, very, very subtle feelings that he tried to ignore in the face of his injury, end up resurfacing
Maybe he lets that slip out a little, and since we know Edwin has his own anger issues, and maybe enough time would have gone by since Fiona was gone, maybe his own feelings would kind of be there
So they acknowledge that in whatever way even though they're both mad at each other, since William felt betrayed by Edwin, and Edwin felt the same since William was suddenly turning on him, putting more pressure on him, this would be in the middle of him trying to ruin Edwin's life, which wasn't as stressful at that point
I think William would cut off the interaction, refusing to accept in any way that he might have liked him a little more, might have liked to be a thorn in his side, or even the one to comfort him in any time of need, offer any sort of "generosity" in turn for Edwin's
So that's when he commits to the idea of cutting him off, and although his feelings would not be the prime motivator, he might think that if he wasn't able to have Edwin in his life the way he wanted, if he chose not to let him stay, if Edwin had taken something from him like that...
Then Edwin wouldn't get to have anything of his, or Henry's
Not unless he'd take the final offer
I think William would at least try on that, that message about managing a location being his last chance, he was trying to carve out a place for Edwin if he wanted it
Everything was taken from him, everything that William and Henry could get their hands on
So that was the only chance he had left to own it again, if he'd just come to them, be where he should have been in the first place, then all of this could stop
He'd get to pursue his future if he wanted, so long as it was shared with the other two
But of course, Edwin doesn't want that, he doesn't see it that way, not after all the stress and pressure put upon him
So nevermind what feelings he has then, he becomes a total shut in, starts keeping to himself and his workplace, leading to his disappearance and the eventual retrieval of his stuff, since now that he was gone, it would be easy to take, it wouldn't be his anymore
William would see it as a shame that Edwin didn't stick around, the nature of him being a traitor no longer important since he was dead
It really does suck that they might have had a moment or two, but that's it, they just get absolutely doomed from then on dang it
Drawings 😇😇😇😇 some from last week and some from today

2 - The legendary Fiona Murray blep… very few get to see it…
3 - David trying to copy his mama. Fan fact! I didn’t actually have a brown colored pencil, so I just used orange and then covered it with my normal pencil
4 - A few critters from last week. Wolf Boone, a sphinx cat, and a persian! As you can see from it’s ears, I hadn’t quite figured out the brown trick
