What the kriff did you do?
Colt has been giving me strange looks since I returned. Sixteen is laughing at me but won’t tell me why, and she’s usually the reasonable one. Nakel tested me for, of all things, cat allergies. The trainees are asking me endless, inane questions about rainforests. Unbelievable.
21. Can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? If you can, what’s your secret?
Absolutely NOT. Honestly I don’t even think about it ‘:)
Unless you count when I know it’ll be under 10k. Because I think that’s cheating. All of my fics are under 10k with the exception of two :( I’m just too impatient.
Really though it doesn’t occur to me until I’m almost done. I get an idea, I start writing, and then I write until I stop :)
36. How do you come up with fic titles? What’s the one you’re most proud of?
Hmmmm usually I cast around for a cool word or theme, one that I especially like or think the vibe suits. Either I use that word or I make it into a phrase or it becomes the inspiration for a phrase. Or I make up a phrase out of other song lyrics. It doesn’t even have to relate to the fic which, really, I’m sure everyone has noticed.
My mermay fics were a poem, though! Missing one line for the fic I never got around to writing. I thought that was funky.
But really I love Velveteen Cushions. It gives me the best sensory feeling, has a word I like and fits the fic :)
