Was at a friend's house so here have some fridge magnet poetry bc I was bored
I'm sure this has been said before by people that are better at articulating their thoughts but here I am anyway:
Ofmd and mainly the fandoms way of portraying the characters and all their flaws is so gorgeous to me.
The way i have seen tons of art of character that showcase their whole being human so beautifully.
Art where a character is shirtless and they have bodyhair and scars and soft bellies and age lines and stretch marks and where none of this takes away from the characters beauty and instead ads so much more to their humanity.
This fandom and its artists are revolutionizing body positivity and are showcasing characters without making them look like perfect, hairless models.
They are showing men that have all the characteristics of being a stereotypical man (hairy, large, rugged looking and scared) and those men are being gentle and soft and emotionally vulnerable with eachother.
They are showing off characters that don't fit into the stereotypical images of what a man or a woman is supposed to be and they are showing them as they are, not less or more then. They are showing Lucius and Jim and stede and Oluwande and so many others breaking every stereotype of what they are supposed to be and they are doing it in a beautifully mundane fashion.
I can't fully explain it without this becoming way longer than it already is, but yeah.
Every time I see art of this show I fall a little bit more in love with the inherent humanity of it all <3
Thank you my fellow artists. I love you, I'm giving you a kiss on the cheek.
Something that irked me about Philza’s stream yesterday was chat- I mean… chat is usually something that irks me about stream but let me explain.
When Philza was explaining certain ADHD stims he does, chat was just… unreadable. Constant spamming of “one of us”, one dono even blatantly said “Philza, you have ADHD”.
What the fuck?
Firstly, diagnosing people isn’t okay. If Phil asked chat to help him figure out why he displayed stims like that, then maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad. But Phil, 1, did not ask, and 2, guiding Phil instead of diagnosing him would have been the way to go. Directing him to resources (once again, should he want them) and sharing experiences.
Secondly, donating MONEY to Phil, a person you don’t even know (sorry to all the #parasocial people out there) to diagnose him? Blatantly saying “you have ADHD” and giving him money to say so? That’s- in the nicest language I can use, so fucking weird.
How would you like it if some random stranger, walked up to you, threw £10 at your face and diagnosed you with a mental disorder BASED on the fact that they have it and you display maybe one or two symptoms of such.
Phil has said it before and will undoubtedly say it again. If it becomes a concern to him, he will check it out. But until then, for the love of him and everyone trying to watch the stream, keep it to yourself. Assuming people’s mental health and diagnosing them is on the same level of weird as assuming someone’s sexuality and labelling them.
yall at this point I think I should make a separate blog for my tetro stuff because this was supposed to be an OC art blog? But I'm hyperfixating
taking url suggestions :)
genuinely shocking to me that my girlfriend finds my dark circles attractive
Genuinely dating a girl who’s like a goddess or something and she’s out here going “you’re so pretty kffnihenfie4 ilysm”
And my five foot nothing sleep deprived ass is just like
You've played Lcorp/Ruina? Any particular Abnormalities you like?
Oh no you're figuring it out- /silly
Yes, I've played LobCorp, Ruina AND am in the process of playing through LimbComp! I love all the project moon stuff even though I don't read a lotta literature so I don't get much of the retelling of stories bits that the games do (Much to the dismay of a certain friend of mine, sorry Ymir-)
Out of all the abnormalities, Blue Star has to be my favorite! I actually think Blue Star's referencing nuclear power- Both its risks and its allure, in a lotta ways, because in many cases where people are exposed to Radiation in a bad way, usually the material is decribed as "Blue," "Glowing", and "Tempting", most characteristics associated with the anomaly.
Kinda tragic in a lotta ways but also really fun how they play with it in the game.
I have an actual Abnormality OC that I made but I'll keep that under the Keep Reading line to keep this post brief-
I have been enjoying string scale theory and was curious, have you made anything else?
I might cry just a lil /pos
I'm glad you're enjoying String-Scale!! I actually.... gave up doing blogs because of an incident related to this...
I had a blog called "JustACuriousLycanroc" which was about this really nice lycanroc called Iru who had a lot of fun silly story to him and was a part of the pokeask community-
Art by @neoncityrain I still love this-
Iru was a lycanroc who was tested on by Aether for the possibility of fusing pokemon souls together to make a more versatile and strong pokemon, but it didn't work out, and the pokemon he was fused with went berserk and the team all died.
Then there's Serix- Part of a bigger story that crossed over a few blogs, I believe.
Also by Neon-
Serix was the survivor of an apocalyptic situation that killed off his entire Salandit pack, leaving him alone. When he has an encounter with the zombified version of Coballion, he manages to outwit the half-dead legendary and kill it with a bunch of spikes, and suddenly is given the responsibility of raising the next Coballion. A sly, greedy scavenger, now the guardian of one of the most Valiant, Courageous Legendaries.... Surely this wouldn't go bad, right? I never actually finished Serix's story--
I had a lot more story around these two planned, but the blogs ended up getting,,, deleted. I was trying to delete a side blog and Tumblr thought that was me deleting my entire Tumblr account, so it eradicated all my blogs. I couldn't recover it and lost a fair bit of art. I was devastated for so long that I just. Didnt rejoin tumblr for a while.
And when I did recreate an account, I only made it for dev blogs for my games and mods. Or for memes.
But String Scale was such a strong inspiration for me that I. Couldn't NOT do it. So here I am.
