Honestly the most chill about it out of all the mercs

He has sisters so he knows how to take care of flowers but he’s never been the one to receive them

Would press the flowers once the start to wilt and make bookmarks so he can keep them forever (sap)

And if he’s more protective of you during matches, who's to say the reason why?

☆Engineer - Bluebonnets☆

He sticks to the practical side of things, so when you give him a bouquet of flowers he’s utterly perplexed

He’s flattered of course, and thanks you greatly for the gift because he’s a Texas boy raised with manners

But he’s not used to pretty things and…doesn’t quite know what to do with them

He puts them in a vase with water but he finds himself stopping his work to look at them

They didn’t solve a problem, they didn’t hold a purpose yet people–including him now–seemed to love them

Eventually gives up trying to find a reason for it and just accepts it as they’re just pretty

Even though solving questions like “what is beauty” was never his forte, he’d somehow found an answer for it

And it was…well, you.

☆Medic - Cornflowers/Drosera Spatulata Sundew☆

There’s two flowers that he’d like

Cornflowers are one of his favorites, specifically the white ones (they remind him of Archimedes)

Not just because they are national flowers of Germany, but he also appreciates their medicinal properties

But if you somehow got your hands on a Drosera Spatulata Sundew he’d be pocketing you for months afterwards

Is absolutely fascinated with carnivorous plants and you get him carnivorous flowers???

The most romantic (or just super cool if platonic) thing in the world to him

Isn’t a botanist but he’ll be in the medbay all the time now just observing it and its reactions

☆Sniper - Wildflowers☆

No one has ever gotten him flowers before so when you show up at his camper van with hand picked flowers wrapped in twine he’s surprised, to say the least

But when you gave them to him they felt…special.

Similar to Scout that if you say you could return them he’d absolutely refuse

pt 2 of a request! Reader has a collection of stuffed animals that they've put off showing anyone else, even their partner, Engie. :] The Sniper version is here!

Contains: 654 words, g/n reader, established relationship, too many nicknames from engie, fluff

    No one knew what the inside of your room was like. (If Spy did, he never mentioned it.) Engie had to admit he was curious, even before you two started dating. After you two became an item and were learning more about each other, he was surprised you still seemed touchy about your room. As curious as he was, he thought it might be rude to ask to go in if you never offered. He’s a gentleman.

He did drop a few hints here and there, usually in the form of gifting you decorations.

“Hey, sweet pea. I made a little somethin’ for ya,” he said with a smile. He held out his hand to you, showing off a metal flower, made of wire and nuts soldered together with care. “Thought it’d make a nice decoration in yer room.”

But, he still didn’t pry into your room, just waited until you approached him first, looking sheepish.

“Hey, hun. Uh… would you wanna hang out in my room for a bit? I, uh, got the chance to clean up in there,” you mumbled.

He doesn’t bother to hide the big smile on his face.

His smile was infectious to you, despite your nerves. You bit your lip as you walked ahead, telling yourself surely this would go over fine. You were making a big deal out of nothing… probably. (Even though keeping stuffed animals is childish and embarrassing.) Your thoughts oscillated between comforting and berating.

“…Ya alright, darlin’? Your actin’ like yer in touble or somethin’,” Engie pointed out, tilting his head at you.

You both came to a stop in front of your doorway, and you turned to him with a shrug and too-big smile.

“It’s nothing! It’s just different for me! But, uh, it’s no big deal, really, let’s just head in, right?” You replied.

You held open the door for him, avoiding eye contact as he stepped inside. You shut the door quietly behind him and waited for the inevitable comment about your stuffed animals. Your eyes flicked to him, but he wasn’t even looking at your bed first. He was looking at your dresser, the posters on your wall, and the desk still littered with papers and books.

“Well, you sure made yourself comfortable in here! Aw, it suits you,” he commented, eyes wandering. Then he noticed the mountain of plushies.

“Woah! I didn’t know you liked stuffed animals so much. Were you hidin’ ‘em from us?” He asked half-jokingly, turning to you. His expression fell a little upon seeing your own. You looked so timid.

“Oh. Y’were,” he realized softly. He stepped closer and held your hand in his.

“I’m sorry, darlin’. Is that why you don’t let anyone in yer room?”

They are probably the most interesting when it comes to you.

They tried to talk about you to the rest of the Mercenaries actually. However, since most of them can’t here them, they brush it off as utter nonsense. Except for one particular person.

Miss Pauling.

It was over a phone call, since pyro was in their room, they didn’t feel the need to put on a mask. It had to do with a contract killing you in particular and they rejected it. Miss Pauling inquired further about it, she was simply told, “Oh they didn’t tell you? I love him.”

Okay, ow, that hurt. But that one conversation with Miss Pauling somehow got spread around the entirety of Red Team. Though, it isn’t really a case of, ‘They are in love with blue team’ but a case of, ‘They can love?!’

Overall, it went alright. Though it did show how people felt about their cognitive abilities.

Engineer:

Ah yes, Dell, the man with more PHD’s than fingers of the Mercs have after a fight. He got caught because of an invention.

I am a firm believer that Dell’s love languages are Gift Giving and Acts of Service. He adores the moments when you just look so happy and excited, so keeping the stressful moments to a minimum with his inventions or hell just giving you a cup of coffee is something he thinks about a little too much.

So when he finds out that your medigun isn’t working as well as it should be, he immediately gets to solutions for you. It wasn’t like you asked though, since you didn’t even know something was wrong with your medigun in the first place but the nozzle doesn’t have the same range as it used to.

Though, his teams medic assumed it was for him until the very quick realization that it did absolutely nothing for his medigun. Which immediately was brought with accusations of being a spy and betraying the team.

To tell you it was ugly would be an understatement. To the point where his only defense is that he loved you. So he just simply said that. Did it resolve his issues with spy accusations? Yes. But it created a whole new problem.

Now there’s a bit of pressure from the rest of the team to just, ‘Snap out of it’ but he doesn’t. As much as he lies through his teeth, and as much as he tries to ignore it, he can’t. I mean, he’s a full grown man dammit, who cares?

Scout:

If you were to ask me how he even gotten himself in this situation, I’d say the many doodles he has of you.

He has a somewhat (very) crass way of expressing his feelings when using his sketchbook. Everything he feels about you just drawn out, kissing, hugging, other things a 20 year old with art abilities draws.

The first person to find these sketches of you is Spy. His first thoughts follow the beat of, ‘This is really good anatomy.’ To ‘Is that the enemy medic?’

Spy tried to use it as leverage against Scout. Once Scout realized what had happened, he almost immediately decided to tell every red merc on his own terms.

It’s the most Jeremy thing he could do, but I genuinely believe he’d do it. Though it goes as well as you expect it to. Which is not great.

To sum it up, there were so many argument over it. Whether it is justified or not, but most were in agreement that they knew they can’t change his feelings about you.

If you're AFAB hes a true GIVER, wants to please you. Even if he's tired from working on the battle field he wants to be between your legs and eating you out.
