Victor nickname headcanons

I don't think any of these are outlandish or surprising but:

Cashmere -> Cash, or 'C' (only by Gloss, especially during sad moments)

Gloss -> G (only family), or Glossy if someone wants to set him off (Victors rarely do, this is a Capitolite thing, sadly)

Finnick -> Finn, Fake-Nick (Johanna only, it's an inside joke)

Johanna -> Jo (friends only, she's adamant anyone else has to call her her whole name), Joke-anna (Finnick only, an inside joke)

Enobaria -> En, Baria (Brutus and D2 only), Teefs (Johanna, once)

Rhubae -> Rhu, Rhubes (she doesn't like it but won't say that), Rude (also Johanna, only rarely)

Brutus -> Bru (Enobaria and other D2), Bruty (Rhubae, demeaning)

Augustus -> Gus, he's a simple man

Penthesilia -> Penny (Cashmere used to refuse to use the nickname since Caesar created it during her first interviews and she interpreted it as disrespect; Penny prefers her name shortened bc she fucking hates her parents), Pen

Cecilia -> CeCe, Ceec, Cillia, C (only among older Victors, especially if Cashmere is around)

Haymitch -> Hay, Mitch, Asshole (Johanna)

Was this at all what I thought I was gonna write when I said 'hm, lemme write a CashBaria fic'? No.

Is it barely even a CashBaria fic? Sadly, yes.

Do they have any Mentorship icks?

Enobaria, Brutus, Beetee, and any other canon character we don't get much of

Enobaria's is 'slacking.' She's always giving 100% while Mentoring and she thinks anything less is insulting to the tributes. So when she sees the likes of Haymitch, Chaff, Blight, or even D2's Cicero drinking on the job, she gets very judgy. It creates just a little bit of tension between her and Cashmere (bc Haymitch is the drinker of the Victors and Cashmere often just explains around it when it's okay and full blown ignores it even he's drinking too much). She not-so-secretly thinks his drinking is the only reason he's never gotten a Victor (oh, to be so naive).

Brutus' is failure. Almost opposite to Enobaria, he doesn't care how a Victor results, they just need to get results. He only respects Victors who've gotten their kids/tributes out of the arena. And he wishes he didn't bc it means he 'has to' respect his nemisis...Rhubae (who he hates for lowkey no reason other than jealousy/platonic territorial-ness over Enobaria) bc she ends up with as many Victors as he did (not including the AU where Cato/Clove win instead of Katniss/Peeta).

Beetee can't stand when Victors try too hard. He won't ever admit it but he takes great pride in being the reason he won his Games (having electrocuted 6 tributes at once after scrounging around resources for the better part of a week w/ no Sponsorships in sight). Any Victor who got out bc their Mentor sold their bodies, made bets, sent in the perfectly-timed parachute that made the final decision, etc is akin to a cheater in his book. For all of his animosity towards Snow, they're actually remarkably similar in that way...

and Mags' is whenever a Victor/Mentor doesn't actually get to know their tributes. She always prides herself on knowing her kids. Obviously, she only gets a week to get to know them (and any chance encounters in D4 if applicable) but she genuinely believes that it gives her a leg up to know her kids when it comes to Mentoring. And, either way, it's the least she could do. She sees the detached Victors like Haymitch, Vendor, or Beetee as extremely cruel to these already terrified children and instills in all of her future Victors this same principal.

My queen of flirting with her friends: Cashmere Diives

I'm living for this headcanon/fanfic lore that she will flirt w/ anyone who moves if it either annoys someone else or if it'll get her Sponsorships w/o any actual sex. And thus was born the 'throuple' of RhuBariMere.

She loves 'flirting up' Enobaria (who she firmly believes should feel like a sexy princess which the Capitol doesn't tend to 'allow') and it annoys her bestie Rhubae which is always a bonus. She is not actually a part of their relationship but will often seem like a poly whore to both of them in public so Rhubae and Enobaria's sacred and unlabelled relationship never goes questioned. Very much a 'what do you mean, I'm dating them both separately, idiot' kinda vibe. I HC that she knows her reputation is so in the gutter that she flirts w/ a lot of Victors to boost their Sponsorships or will even let them start rumors about them hooking up bc what does it matter? We love a hopeless hypersexualized asexual.
