I understand that Autocracy was a goddamn mess of continuity, however I'm still miffed we were robbed of Metroplex and Rodimus having a bond with each other.

You are lying to me if Nyon didn't leave a lasting impact on them and drove them to be there for each other in some way because as far as we're aware? Rodimus is definitely one of his only surviving citizens post-war, citizens that had already been vastly reduced when Zeta was draining them of their energon and Nyon burned to the ground.
