McGameJam 2026 - 1st Place and Best Art Direction Winner🏆🏆

Hi all!! Long time no tumblr :P

This past weekend, I participated in a 48-hour game jam with seven wonderful friends, where we created FACESHOPPER, a timed 2D puzzle game built around body modification as its core gameplay loop.

I worked primarily on the writing and programming, while also contributing to the art and sound design.

Overall, it was one of the best short-term hackathon/game jam experiences I’ve had. Huge shoutout to my artists for producing so much art in such short time, as well as my fellow programmers for being with me even when we had build issues and merge conflicts <3

The Quiet Council of Krakoa get a video feed from Mojo who had abducted Jubilee and the newest random mutant kids. These videos show not only the "death" of Faceshopper the random mutant kid, they also show Jubilee and the newest mutant kids battling the "villains" and then, reforming them. Faceshopper the random mutant kid is not dead, she had changed into Wolverine costume to help her survive in Mojoverse with the help of Mojo Junior.

Marvel’s Voices: Pride (2022)

In the short story LGBT-D, writer Grace Freud introduces a host of new characters who are attending a support group for super-powered trans youth. Among them is a young woman named Soph, a shape-shifter who uses the codename “Faceshopper.” This character is an homage to the late artist SOPHIE, a transgender musician who rose to prominence in the 2010s. The story implies that Soph was likely influenced by SOPHIE when choosing both her name and super-heroic moniker.

Sophie Xeon, known to the world as SOPHIE, was a trail-blazing artist and producer of pop music. In addition to her prolific songwriting and production credits on mainstream albums, SOPHIE was a pioneer of the hyperpop genre, and her unique sound and creative vision are hallmarks of modern LGBT artistry. Sophie Xeon passed away in January, 2021.
