Hi, If you fail a course how does that work when repeating it. Does you first attempt show or the second attempt.

Both your attempts will show up on your transcript, but only the second attempt will be counted in your GPA.

I've had a really rough semester and am currently only enrolled in 1 class if I fail it will I still be able to enroll come fall regularly or will there be an issue doing so this is also my first semester at York.

Sorry to hear that anon. If you fail the course then you will likely be placed on academic warning, but you should still be able to enroll in courses for F/W as far as I’m aware.

Hey, If I'm taking 18 credits this year and I fail a 3 credit course in fall, and I want to add a 3 credit winter course, do I still have to submit a change request form to notify OSAP?

No, since your overall course load is the same.

What happens if u fail a course while with osap??

You may have an academic warning. If it’s your first time basically you’re asked to write a letter of explanation to address the situation. I believe on the second time, you may be restricted from applying for OSAP for a certain period.

You don’t have to, but the mark will be on your transcript unless you retake it or petition it off.

i'm a 1st year& my program only has 1 first year course comn 1000 which I found difficult because i'm still kinda adjusting to uni& I didn't hand in 1 of the essays because of personal issues I didn't really want to discuss so I didn't tell the prof, I have a strong feeling that I might fail the course is there a way to remove it from my transcript& retake it next year, should i drop it now since it doesn't finish until may or should i wait& petition it?what do you recommend and how do i do this

If you think you’re going to fail the course then I would recommend dropping it now, so you don’t have to go through the hassle of petitioning and then you can repeat the course during the F/W.

I'm a honors psyc student and there is a really good chance I might fail my Stats 6 cred course. I've been getting D and Cs in most of my other classes. How will I be penalized for failing and if I want to retake it do I have to notify anyone? After I retake it will they automatically update my transcript?

If you fail the course then you don’t get the credits and your GPA drops. You don’t need to inform anyone if you’re repeating a course for the second time, you just enroll in the course through REM like you normally do. Yes your transcript will be automatically updated.
