This publication which is “Restoring America” is basically making excuses for the greedy, corrupt Republicans and the destructive fossil fuel companies who own them.  The “spirited debate” is neither spirited nor is it a debate. I read the “opinion” all the way through and it’s a nauseating, disingenuous assault on Democrats and a marathon of finger-pointing and blaming Biden.  It’s a fact-free misleading diatribe that basically encourages people to ignore the climate crisis and consume as much in the way of fossil fuels as they want.  All the while driving their oversized pick-up trucks with shitty gas mileage (10 - 14 miles per gallon gas guzzlers) and joining the whining bitch-fest about the price of gasoline (which by the way the President nor the US Government have little to almost no control over).

Да, производство и транспортировка пластмассы создает большой углеродный след. Но что если мы сравним его с другими материалами, с металлом, стеклом и бумагой? . Алюминий разлагается 500 лет, а стекло – более 1000. Бумага разлагается от 1 до 3 месяцев, но часто в состав бумажных изделий входит клей и вставки из неразлагаемых материалов. . При производстве пластмассовых изделий выделяется 0.2 т CO₂ на тонну продукции, для стекла этот показатель составляет 0,7 т CO₂, а для алюминия – 8,1 т газа. . При транспортировке намного экологичнее перевозить легкие пластмассовые изделия, чем стеклянные, для которых потребуется больший расход топлива. . Для полиэтиленового пакета потребуется на 40% меньше энергии, чем для бумажного, и в 100% случаев пластик можно переработать. . Пластик также удобен при хранении продуктов, при их транспортировке и сохранении вкусовых качеств. . Пластик не идеален, но представляется меньшим из четырех зол. А сократить негативные последствия от его использования поможет раздельный сбор мусора и его переработка. .
