It’s mid-October, so that means it’s spring bulb planting season! Early spring crocuses, mid-spring narcissus, and late spring irises will share this pot, which will overwinter in my garage. I'm edging the chicken yard fence with a mixt of shredded cardboard and newspaper, and compost harvested from the chicken yard. I plan to plant along here much more aggressively this winter, with fennel and other cool-weather crops. My focus is shifting away from doing everything in raised beds and instead working on improving the general soil health. Happy September! Best news is that today should be the last of the triple-digit weather--hopefully until next year! I am ready to get my fall planting rolling out for my winter harvest.
