Caregiver Shane Walsh Headcanons
Ok so, just ideas I had bc I hyperfixated on TWD and even tho I hate canon!Shane, I really like the version of him I made up in my head,
Also this is based on my own AU in which Shane never fell for Lori, and never went crazy ofc,
Shane is overprotective as hell, he never leaves your side, his gaze never leaves you, he is always, ALWAYS, on guard, observing and making sure you're safe.
He is also very indulgent, he'll do anything you want. Play hide and seek? He's the best seeker. Want to colour? He fought a walker to get a box of crayons. A tea party? He's already getting the tiaras.
He won't let anyone else take care of you, he feels the responsibility to do it himself and doesn't trust anyone to be as capable as he is.
Is the kind of caregiver that makes sure you never know when something bad happened. The group is running from walkers? He told you they're having a race. He won't let you suffer any sadness or anxiety if he can avoid it.
He is really good at protecting you and playing with you, but he is not the best at handling the hard stuff or the emotional stuff. You feel sick or got injured? He panicks and runs to Rick for advice. You feel sad? He is desperate trying to make you laugh and doesn't understand why Rick insists on letting you cry and vent your feelings.
He loves doing everything for you, choosing your outfit, brushing your hair, making you food and sometimes even feeding you. He likes feeling that you need him.
And he absolutely LOVES when you actually need him to do something you can't do on your own.
He goes feral when you're in danger though.
Or when he feels you're in danger. He will snap at anyone that dares to even look at you funny. An he doesn't give warnings, one second he is fine and the next he is throwing fists at the asshole that made a comment about you.
And then he is showering you with love, his bruised hands caressing your hair, making sure you never feel ashamed of who you are, and that you always know that he's got your back.
Every night he will tuck you in, sing you a lullaby of your choosing and cuddle you until you fall asleep.
And he won't leave your side until you wake up. He doesn't sleep much, he only falls asleep when he is hugging you.
He is the most happy when you are happy, and he will do anything to make sure you're happy no matter what.
