Hybrid genetics p6
Enderian hybrids.

My favorite thing is doing mental punnet squares in my head to try to figure out what percentage of what Elrond actually is and out loud muttering “how human are you?!?!” In a public space the girl sitting next to me looked at me like I’m insane which is fair because I probably am
I completely forgot that Jester and Molly have different Eyeball situations going on (lol). CR is a mostly sound based medium in fairness to me, so until the Animated sneak peek came out, I kind of didn't notice or put together that Molly looks more like a full Tiefling with the completely red colored sclera, whereas Jester has more "normal" (not to be speciesist) white sclera. Marion, if I recall correctly, has the full Tiefling eyes as well, so I do think that's a hint about Jester's parentage I just picked up on lol. Only a couple years late.
I wonder if they'll address it in the animated show. That would be a good jumping off point to drop breadcrumbs about Jester's mixed heritage and her missing/absent father. They could have a little, "Oh My God Nott, you can't just ask a tiefling why their eyes are white!" Mean Girls moment. Her hellish rebuke being Ice instead of Fire is also abnormal so that would be interesting for them to discuss. They have to lay some sort of groundwork for The Gentleman reveal and that would be a relatively subtle way of doing it. The somewhat random way the reveal happened in the campaign is awesome but for a tv show they need to add at least a little bit of a hint beforehand (more than just him being Blue and Bi lol).
It could be during a conversation where Molly spins some bullshit about his past. Like that bit from the beginning of C2 E6 where he lies about praying over his swords, admits he wasn't honest with them when he first met them about his family being from a long line of priests, then proceeds to continue to lie his ass off by saying rather than priests, they were the ritual sacrifices who ran away and that's why his blood is special.
That scene has the amazing foreshadowing line:
Beau: Oh my god, you killed your whole family?!
Molly: I didn't kill my whole family.
Beau: Oh, okay. Never mind, keep going. I'm sorry.
Middle earth genetics headcanon! Orcs as they are created are all YY on the sex chromosome. The children of orcs and elves are called the "sons of orcs" which I am interpreting to mean that these orcs are all male. The only way a generation could be all XY (male) when the mother is XX is if the father is YY. This doesn't work in real species because there isn't enough genetic information on the Y chromosome to function, but the orcs look like they're messed up a bit so the fantasy genetics works. This would also mean that the first female orc you could have would have to be only a quarter orc and have a half-orc father.
WOF Phylogenetic tree!
Okay, so who are the ancestors? What are their traits? I don't have names for them at the moment, but their traits, based on the resulting generation of most likely ancestral traits created by the phylogeny program, are the following:
12: heightened senses, venom, vibration sensing, 4 wings, metamorphosis 13: venom, 4 wings 14: 2 wings, venom, prehensile til, photosynthetic abilities 15: 2 wings, chromatophores (color changing) 16: 2 wings, heightened senses, larger size, large lungs, webbed claws, gills, bioluminescence 17: 2 wings, elemental breath, larger size, large wings/extremities 18: 2 wings, elemental breath, extreme thermal tolerance 19: 2 wings, elemental breath, extreme thermal tolerance 20: 2 wings, elemental breath, heightened senses, forked tongue
Data/methods below the cut, as well as a (brief) dive into evolutionary history for Beetle-Night Hybrids and why I want some history on Beetles lol
I find it super interesting that some races can properly interbreed with each other and some can't.
Like are Half-foots just miniature hourse versions of Tall-men? Why are Ogres miex in with them? Can a Half-foot breed with an Ogre and make a kid who can have children?
So many questions.
Bro, bro. In your new confectionverse, are there like... interspecies hybrids? I can imagine a floof null or a floof blade... Please take your time, and please tell us if you have a favorite creature you made of them already.

So they're all the same species, however.
Much like real life, chimeras, conjoined twins, and other medical conditions can happen. So while not hybrids per se, combinations can happen, though are not common.
It's far more common for offspring to be a delic or blade, followed by a nill. However it's not limited to the same as a parent- as long as they carry the gene, the child can be any of the castes.
(This goes with the same for scents and similar. Just because a parent has a say, cinnamon roll scent/taste, doesn't mean the child will. Sure baked goods are the most common scent, but it can be any food or drink, and range from anything as simple as cinnamon to something like a parfait.) (This also goes with nills' bioluminesence, colors close to a parent's is most common but outliers also of course exist. Go wild, have fun!)
NOW, if you're doing a world where confectionverse species and humans are in the same place, then hybrids of the two species is totally possible! The sky is the limit, get as chaotic as you want!
.... I actually have a JJK AU of confectionverse already where we nicknamed Sukuna Rangoon. He's a delic-blade chimera, thanks to absorbing his twin in the womb. If he hadn't, one of them would have been a (Sweet sesame wonton) delic, and the other a blade.
another chart for my fantasy race genetics project :D
this time it's epistatic red! the O locus that cats have!
