Fate Foretold (2nd Level, Divination)
Casting Time: 1 action (ritual)
Range: Touch
Components: V, M (a gold coin and a bottle of ink, consumed in the casting)
Duration: Instantaneous
Classes: Bard, Cleric, Wizard
You dip the coin into the ink, then touch it to a willing creature, watching as the coin melts away and lines of scrawled text begin to appear across the creature’s body. Roll a d20, and record the number rolled. Until the end of your next long rest, whenever the target rolls a d20, if the number rolled is the same one, both you and the target gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your spellcasting modifier.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using certain higher-level spell slots, the number of temporary hit points you gain is increased– twice as many with a 5th-level spell slot, four times as many with a 7th-level spell slot, and eight times as many with a 9th-level spell slot.

“Deep in shimmering waters, time unravels like a tapestry. In ancient times, powerful relics known as scrying pools were used to glimpse beyond the clouded present and into the future. This practice was known as augury, and only the sharpest minds and most focused souls were capable of seeing through the effervescent waters. No mortal has practiced augury in millennia, and like many ancient artifacts, scrying pools have all but vanished from existence. If you seek knowledge of the future, you must travel to the edges of the world, following whispers on the wind, to where one of the last surviving few might be.”
