This past Tuesday, April 7, 2020, Pastor Jenkins challenged us, called us to prayer. And in only the way he could, didn't hold any punches.
During his opening he made this statement;
"We got all this free time on our hands, and I'm hoping you're not spending it watching television, watching game shows and reading foolish books or anything. But I hope you're spending time in worship with God and in prayer."
I have a couple of questions for you, what have you been watching? What have you been reading?
Myself? I've been spending time of course, I'm sure like everyone else, watching the news. Newsy and Cheddar News channels. I've also watched some very good documentaries on HBO. "Kill Chain: The Cyber War on America's Elections", "After Truth: The Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News", "Scheme" and "Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children". I've also binged watched an old favorite, "Magnum P.I." (Tom Selleck). I've also been watching "Watchmen", "Westworld", and replay of a number of sporting events as if I didn't know the results already. LOL!
What have I been reading? I've been reading a couple of books. John Piper's "Spectacular Sins: And Their Global Purpose in the Glory of God" and Randy Alcorn's "If God is Good: Faith in the Midst of Suffering."
This teaching has been with me all week. If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend watching with both your bible and a notebook as pastor walks you down the scriptures. And if you watched already, WATCH IT AGAIN! It's that good.
