CHAPTER 1 - tsu'tey!sister!reader series
The Pandoran forest came alive at night, the bio-luminescence illuminating all around you. Your ears pricked at the sound of viperwolfs yipping and yowling and something else.. it sounded unidentifiable. Your direhorse Ru'a shifted slightly underneath you. You felt the ripple of her muscles through the bond, tsaheylu.
Your eyes turned towards your older brother, Tsu'tey. "Tsmukan, nga tolaron fì'u srak?" Tsu'tey's ears flicked briefly towards your direction, and he nodded. You fixed your bow that was fixed across your back. "Kivä ko!" Tsu'tey called towards you and the rest of the patrol.
You spoke through the bond, and Ru'a went into a gallop. Following Tsu'tey and the others. Then you saw them: Neytiri and a strange man. Whatever he was wearing from where you saw looked strange. One of the men from your patrol threw a rope, and you saw from afar as it met with his legs. The foreign man fell with a ‘umph’ and a slight protest.
He untied himself hastily and drew a knife from his holster. Members of your patrol ululated and whooped in warning as their bows and arrows were knocked and ready to fire. You had knocked your own; your muscles taut as you held the bow like it was an extension of yourself, your tail flicking, and your ears folded against your head as you bared your teeth. Fangs on display as you snarled. The man's eyes were wide in fear, and you pulled your arrow tighter, ready to fire.
"Ma wey, Na' viya! Ma'wey!" Neytiri shouted towards you and the patrol. Your eyes catch hers for a slight moment as she turns towards your brother. "Ma Tsu'tey! Kempe si nga?" Her tail flicked in slight irritation.
You lowered your bow, but kept your arrow knocked. You looked over to Tsu'tey, and he dismounted from his direhorse, his ears flattened against his head. You knew that Neytiri knew that demons were forbidden. and your older brother made that very clear.
"Aungia lolu! Tsahikur txele lu!" Neytiri responded to Tsu'tey, and her eyes flicked towards yours briefly; your tail lashed behind you. As you turned your eyes to the outsider. Your ears twitched, and you tilted your head. The foreign man was already looking at you; you hissed at him softly.
"Pot zmunge!" You declared, the beads in your hair clinking together gently, and you looked over at the man. Your nose wrinkled at the smell, and you looked at your brother, and with a shrug you said, "Fra'u sìltsan a tsun hrr, peyä lu?"
Tsu'tey's eyes narrowed, and then he hopped up on his direhorse, "Makto ko!" Then everyone moved back to Hometree in unison.
----------------------------------
As Hometree came into view, the huge tree was lush with greenery and encompassed the life of you and your people. As the patrol entered, the sounds quieted, and your people gathered in fascination at the newcomer, they poked and prodded. The man yelped in surprise, and you looked back as you followed your brother near the front.
Your Olo' eyktan, Neytiri's father, met your eyes first. "Oel ngati kameie," you answered softly, touching the middle of your forehead as you nodded, moving behind Eytukan and near your brother. As Neytiri's father and mother, Mo'at, your Tsahik, questioned his daughter and the outsider, you hardly listened until you heard the word "warrior", and you and your brother scoffed.
"Tsamsiyu pak? Pot tsun oe tspivang nìftue." You declared from the back, and you stepped forward with a snarl. "Kehe!" Eytukan said as he placed a hand to hold you back. Your eyes returned to the man of question, and he was already staring right at you, and you looked away. Your ear flicked in irritation, and you huffed indignantly.
Eytukan began to go on about how this outsider was the first warrior they had encountered, which, to be fair, was the truth, and how the people needed to learn more about him. Mo'at then made a decision that you thought was the most unfair thing ever, "Oeyä sweya taronyu sì Ma 'ite, awngeyä fya'ori zene nga sänume sivi poru, fte tsivun pivlltxe sì tivìran na ayoeng." Your eyes widened, and you looked at your brother and Neytiri.
"Pxasìk!" You exclaimed, you clenched your hands into fists and growled under your breath softly.
"Learn well, Jakesully" Mo'at said to the man. He nodded in acknowledgement, and his eyes were wide in what you would guess as fear. He turned and flashed you a boyish smile, and you rolled your eyes in return.
————————————
Dinner rolled around and the man was changed out of his demon clothes, and he followed behind you to where everyone was gathered.
“Sit,” you muttered at him, your accent thick and you pushed food into his hands as you sat on your haunches. The beads in your hair ‘clinking’ together to make a melodic sound.
“Nice to meet you, my name is Jake.” The wonderful silence that you were enjoying was shattered by his voice. You turned to look at him; your eyes narrowed, and all he did was grin. 'He has a nice smile,' you thought as you both looked at one another, then you scoffed.
"Yaymaka skxawgna 'evengan" You spat under your breath, you put food in your mouth so you could focus on that and not making a scene. You looked up and met eyes with Tsu'tey, his face gave off mock sympathy and you stuck your tongue out at him playfully. Your older brother smiled at you softly and his eyes darted to the man next to you and shook your head at him.
----------------------
As the night grew darker, the sounds of the forest quieted. Neytiri joined you and Jake up to where everyone slept. He wobbled and was very unsure and you stared at him in distaste and all he did was laugh softly or smile sheepishly. As the branches of Hometree spiraled to where you slept you jumped down, and motioned for Jake to do the same.
You gave him one last look before you lifted the side of your hammock as it closed, and then you turned over letting sleep encompass you.
Your last thoughts of what this man's true intentions were and what he was doing this deep into your people's forests. You intended to find out, but your duty was to teach, that never meant you couldn't do both.
