something is wrong with my ficus tree :(

He is a weeping fig (benjamina) and he started getting these spots?? I don’t know what to do💀 I looked all over Google but I can’t find anything that matches what is wrong with Benjamin. So naturally I turned to tumblr. I don’t even know if there are plant people on tumblr.

i treated him for scale bugs about a month ago, and he seemed to be doing well, until this.

this is a recent thing, and they’re only on one side of the tree, all of his other leaves look normal. If anyone could help, that would be nice

A couple miscellaneous pieces to share today! I’ve nearly run out of card art, but I’ve done other artwork for Birdwatcher as well. On top, a male Standardwing Bird-of-Paradise, hand drawn in colored pencil. These are a special reward for ultimate backers at the Birdwatcher kickstarter - originals and one-of-a-kind! (And the kickstarter only goes for about two more days, get in on it before it’s gone!)

Below, this is the tree used by the player to organize their cards at the table. It’s Ficus benjamina, the weeping fig, which is an abundant tree in New Guinea that has such a beautiful domed shape. Those fig fruits are a popular food with all kinds of animals, including birds!

Plant Shelves ( 2nd floor) 💚

I finally was able to clean each one of them, clip off the old dead leaves, watering and relocate a couple of them. It is super satisfying! 😎🪴

Grouping plants together increases the humidify a bit and most tropical plants love it. I do have a humidifier in this room and the window is right across these shelves.

Spider plant pups are rooting like crazy, I'd pot them up if I have the time tomorrow. I think they weren't even 2 weeks in water and they look like that?? Those guys are so crazy 😂

The manjula pothos is just 🤌 Just look at the pics, I don't need to say anything more, do I? I think I might stick the vine into the pot some time so it can root, so I can cut it later and get a nice full pot of many pretty manjulas 💖

Potted the aloe aristata this week after letting the water roots dry for about 1-2 days. Can't wait to water this for the first time and see how it does. Also gave my ficus benjamina a new pot purely for aesthetic reasons, as the old square terracotta pot drove me crazy every time I saw it. Looks so much neater in white! And it's much more balanced with the now much smaller plant (it was BIG and wide but ugly af so I cut literally ALL of it off except the main stems 😅🙈 also because the whole plant had thrips damaged leaves which look awful... all these new leaves are so green and lush and shiny and perfect and just beautiful 💖).

Also the Ctenanthe Magic Mosaic. Still growing like crazy (AGAIN 5 new leaves on the way, 1 just freshly unrolled, AND ANOTHER WHOLE NEW SHOOT FROM THE RHIZOME this plant just blows my mind I can't get over it. I swear this grows way faster than my golden pothos or any other plant I have. Unbelievable.

Man, I just love my plants so much??

Identification found!

I did some browsing in the Perixera genus, and I’ve determined that this species is Perixera griseata. Going to keep looking for more species to identify.
