Hey all~

A couple weeks ago I released a brand new, bite-sized survival horror game you can play for free on itch.io right now. In it you play as Haneko, a student who's forgotten her assignments and has to get them back from her school at night before they're due tomorrow. It's short, sweet, and was inspired heavily by Silent Hill.

Testing the camera system. Having a dynamic camera opens a lot of possibilities for design and aesthetics, so I’m happy with the tool we’re using here.

Fixed camera action!

Here’s peek at the grey box pass for the demo based on the floor plan I drew for the map earlier. This is how transitioning between different shots will work in the game.

(All assets, character models, and textures are effectively placeholder. The game’s look is going to come together more after the level design is blocked out.)

There are a lot of restrictions that come with making a game with fixed camera angles, but it also affords a lot of possibilities to make very clear framing and compositions. I feel like I’m just scratching the surface of what can be done with static cameras in a 3D space.

* Visuals are still pre-beta, so everything’s just being roughed out!
