Neo Flamvell Lady

I love genex and ice barrier probably more than most people but come on konami where's the love for the other duel terminal archetypes! Stop dropping new cards for the ones that already have a large pool of cards to pull from and give the others some love! I want playable mist valley, flamvell and jurrac cards goddammit! Make some broken cards that only work for worms they'll never be good enough to break the game I promise

Over the Nexus Deck Profile: Laval
It's easy to compare Laval to Flamvell: Both are FIRE archetypes released in the Hidden Arsenal series with little aesthetic themes beyond "fire", or in this case lava. Lavals, however, are a more refined archetype than Flamvell, possessing a more coherent, nuanced strategy: Fill the graveyard with Laval monsters using Miller and Volcano Handmaiden (Tender of the Laval Volcano), use those monsters to fuel various things, and if you banish them for the cost of those things, recover them to keep the cycle moving. But don't be fooled; Lavals can still utilize Rekindling like Flamvells can. Various Laval monsters, such as Lancelord and Forest Sprite, have the 200 defense required to be summoned via Rekindling, and the Miller + Handmaiden pair fills your graveyard with plenty of monsters to play Flamvell Counter. Because of this synergy, I saw fit to run a small Flamvell package, not only to enable Synchro plays, but also Firedog can summon Lancelord, a 2100 beater, from the deck. Laval Cannon (Cannoneer) is our primary way of reusing our banished Lavals, and pairs very nicely with Spirit of Flames; Spirit of Flames can banish a Handmaiden from the GY to summon itself, then we Normal Summon Cannon to Summon the banished Handmaiden, and make a quick Trishula. The area Lavals really shine is in OTKs, primarily thanks to Laval Forest Sprite and its ability to strengthen all Lavals you control based on the number of Lavals in the graveyard, whenever Forest Sprite is used for a Synchro Summon. In testing this deck to make sure it's profile-ready, I performed an OTK using a Red Nova Dragon with 5500 attack, and a Volcano Handmaiden with 3900 attack. Laval has become one of my favorite archetypes, and has thus lead to one of my favorite Decks I've made for this blog. Over the Nexus Deck Profile: Flamvell
Flamvell are one of the most influential archetypes in Yu-Gi-Oh! history. Despite their limited competitive success, they set a trend that would run through an entire Attribute: FIRE Monsters having exactly 200 defense. The main benefits of this are found in Rekindling and Flamvell Counter; Rekindling summons as many FIRE Monsters from your graveyard with 200 defense as possible, while Flamvell Counter lets you banish one such Monster from your graveyard to negate any Spell or Trap. This defines Flamvell's playstyle, as despite being a named archetype with numerous members, Synchros included, individual Flamvell Monsters have little in common with one another. There is, however, one Monster in particular that gives value to the Flamvell name: Neo Flamvell Origin. If you control a Flamvell Monster and your opponent has 3 or fewer cards in their Graveyard, you can Special Summon it from your hand. Notably, it's not a once per turn, making it excellent for Summoning Red Nova Dragon. To make the deck run more smoothly and give it a consistent removal option, I play a Volcanic engine, which works with the Deck because both Flamvell Poun and Neo Flamvell Origin are compatible with Blaze Accelerator, and Volcanic Rocket and Royal Firestorm Guards introduce more Pyro Monsters to use to Summon Ancient Flamvell Deity, the archetype's ultimate Monster. Conveniently, it also helps clear cards from your opponent's Graveyard to make the Neo Flamvell components work better. Overall, Flamvell is a tricky archetype to get right, but it's well worth the effort. Here's the list: MONSTERS (20): Flamvell Archer x1 Flamvell Baby x1 Flamvell Firedog x3 Flamvell Magician x1 Flamvell Poun x3 Neo Flamvell Origin x3 Neo Flamvell Sabre x1 Royal Firestorm Guards x1 Volcanic Rocket x3 Volcanic Shell x3 SPELLS (10): Blaze Accelerator x1 Dark Hole x1 Foolish Burial x1 Monster Reborn x1 Mystical Space Typhoon x2 Pot of Avarice x1 Rekindling x3 TRAPS (10): Call of the Haunted x1 Dimensional Prison x2 Flamvell Counter x2 Mirror Force x1 Solemn Judgment x1 Solemn Warning x2 Torrential Tribute x1 EXTRA DECK: Ally of Justice Catastor x1 Ancient Flamvell Deity x1 Armory Arm x1 Black Rose Dragon x1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier x1 Colossal Fighter x1 Flamvell Uruquizas x1 Formula Synchron x1 Goyo Guardian x1 Red Dragon Archfiend x1 Red Nova Dragon x1 Scrap Dragon x1 Shooting Star Dragon x1 Stardust Dragon x1 Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier x1
Slight spoiler for my upcoming profiles: One of my sets of 5 is going to be Signer-inspired decks, not really copying an anime character's deck but using their strategy to greater effect than the AI does. Ironically, despite him being my favorite character, Jack Atlas's was the one I've struggled with the most, because his theme is hard to pin down beyond "Dragons and also Fiends" and the only Resonator support card in Over the Nexus is Resonator Engine, which I've tried to make work but the Resonators available are just... so bad. I started with a Flamvell Resonator deck, then tried a weird Archfiend Normal Monster deck trying to use Falling Down and Symbols of Duty with Power Tool Dragon, then tried a regular Archfiend deck with Pandemonium, and after deciding that Archfiends were just too bad to be playable, I finally settled on a Fiend Synchro type of deck with the Stygian cards. It FEELS clever and effective but if it weren't for Dark Resonator and Vice Dragon, which I CAN justify playing because they're both good here, it wouldn't feel much like a Jack deck. Maybe I can try to fit Flare Resonator in here somehow?
