Something I noticed and that has haunted me since I watched Ripper Street (yes, yes. I watched it for MyAnna, sue me.)
Long Susan/Caitlyn's character storyline is absolutely devastating, and I could spend hours analyzing details in her story, talking about it, and yet this isn't my point today.
To be fair, I probably have to give this to the costume department as an absolute respect of their work and its subtle nuances, as I do think it has to be their doing. (Maybe discussed in writing rooms or with producers, I'd imagine, but still.)
After Susan has to give up her bodily autonomy/is coerced to give herself to someone she does not want to (her landlord - Silas Duggan), her wardrobe changes.
Susan Hart, in seasons 1 and 2, wears dresses that, although mostly modest, do have some exposed collarbones, some décolletage with or without lace, etc.
She wears colors, bright and bold.
And then we reach the moment when she has to go to him, has to, after trying to get out of it and yet ending up being coerced to - She wears dark, somber colors as if grieving, in mourning in these episodes when her choice is stripped and has to get used to the idea.
And then we have her in the following seasons (3 to 5). Notice anything?
All of her clothes are buttoned-up, gowns with high necks and high collars, in muted colors, and with no more self-exposition at all.
She hides herself for the rest of the series.
Her motivations can be speculated upon - fear? Disgust? Refusal to ever be looked/lusted upon again because she is exposed? Internalized shame? Trauma manifesting itself this way? Simply following fashion trends? (Which makes little sense in my opinion as she is a prisoner and then on the run for the better part of it, yet still keeps herself covered.)
No matter what the real answer(s) is/are to this, it is an absolute heartbreaking, masterful detail that makes the story even more devastating (as if I wasn't enough simply by the storyline already)
All of this to say, the costume department deserve their flowers.
Good thing from the past year: I got into lots of new creative hobbies! Cross stitch, linocut, weaving… I think there’s more but I can’t remember now lol. I also got my friend into cross stitch so we can hang out and do crafts together! It’s been really fun learning all these new skills and getting to create physical finished items.
This one ALSO just showed up, but the timestamp was before I closed the inbox, so I'm sorry on Tumblr's behalf.

I gotta admit, it WOULD be hilarious if they put Death in a Deadpool project, only for her to spend the whole time moaning about how Agatha doesn't want her. I mean, they won't, but it's a thought that amuses me!
Deadpool: why hello there.
Death: *yeets him* (as is her way)
Deadpool: *doesn’t die*
Death: that’s interesting. *doesn’t move*
Deadpool: why so glum sugar plum?
Death: I should really be doing something about you but… there’s this girl.
Deadpool: Say no more. (Hits the Celine Dion)
Back in December, I made reviews of Survivor's story arcs partly inspired by you (not the style, which is my own, just the idea of openly analyzing and critiquing an ask blog's story in good faith), and I made the note that there's a strong possibility in Kuripa becoming a major endgame villain. I'm relieved to see I'm not the only one who came to that conclusion and that you think it's possible as well. That it's only *possible* and not *certain*, though, is what keeps Kuripa so interesting.
//I wouldn't recommend my writing style for reviews to anyone, as its beyond insanity what I do. I'm the only person who will literally write 15k+ on a review of a story arc of a Tumblr blog. Don't do this please. Do what works for you, I tell this to other reviewers, I do it this way since I like to talk and I can get a insane amount of words down when motivated. Most people are NOT like this.
//With the amount of hints Creeper has dropped that Kuripa in Season 3 is gonna radically change in personality, this can go one or two ways. Either the soul searching he does actually humbles Kuripa greatly and he becomes a much calmer and more considerable person, which will be a massive shock when the heroes reunite with him, or finding out that Matta has Operation Dark Phoenix will break what little shreds of sanity he has and he decides that if his enemy cannot die, he will make sure the entire world dies. ESPECIALLY as Kuripa is away from anyone who could call him out and get him to back down.
//It will be a bold move to make the askblog Protagonist a full-blown villain and normally for many it would be insanely OOC. But for Kuripa, it doesn't feel like that since again, the man is a ticking time bomb, anger, hate and rage boils underneath his skin and if you give him a inch on how brutal he can go, well there's nothing left of the enemy.
//There would be some degree of irony if Matta who is basically Cable, came back in time to try and stop a dark future, but in doing so, he is the cause of said dark future. Something something self-fulfilling prophecy.
//Either way, we shall see what direction Kuripa goes in Season 3, eh?
